Driver
Role overview
- provide quality driving and logistic services to volunteers, staff and visitors within VSO Nepal
Skills, qualifications and experience required
- Grade 10 pass
- Clean driving license and at least 5 years 4WD driving experiences
- Proven experiences working in diverse, multicultural team
- Basic in English and Nepali language (written and speaking)
- Able to manage time and tight schedules, working effectively under pressure and adopt to flexibility
- Clear varied and sensitive communication skills - oral

National Volunteer- Social Accountablity
Role overview
Support adopt and contextualize Social Accountability Core Approach in VSO projects and programme and empower the right holders to aware their rights, raise voice to claim their right to make the duty bearer accountable.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in social science/ development studies with two years or intermediate degree with seven years’ experience on Right based approach and adequate knowledge in good governance and accountability, or relevant subject.
- Ability to train government and non-government staff to design and implement social inclusion and gender strategies and action plans.
- Excellent Nepali language and good in documentation
- In-depth knowledge on current governance issues at policy and program levels in Nepal
- Good experience on assessing individual capacity and conducting training for diverse target group
Allowance
As a VSO volunteer, you will be sharing your skills with local communities on a full time basis. VSO will cover your travel, vaccinations, accommodation, along with a local living allowance which will be paid in local currency. This allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.
VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.

National Volunteer – Resilliance
Role overview
Volunteer- Resilience will contribute to the Rural/Urban Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) survey, analysis, documentation/ knowledge management, coordination, reporting, liaison and network. The volunteer will work closely with partners and ensure meeting all compliances of the project. S/he is also responsible for coordination, networking, and liaison with partners, government, and other stakeholders. S/he will support the target municipality during Vulnerability Capacity Assessment (VCA), Municipality Disaster Risk Management Plan (MDRMP) and Municipal Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (MEPRP) formulation process.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
Professional skills and qualifications needed in the position
- Graduate degree in DRR or relevant subject with 2- years, Intermediate degree with 7 years of relevant work experience in design and implementation of disaster risk reduction or other related areas in risk reduction in rural/urban context.
- Practical working experience and knowledge on global and national DRR related policies and practices, core humanitarian standard, rights based approach, gender and social inclusion
- Excellent communication skills in Nepali
- Excellent coordination, networking and facilitation skills
- Experience of working with the private sector is extremely important
- Personal qualifications needed in the position
- Committed to rights based and gender sensitive work, pro-poor, committed and strong civil society organizations and social mobilization.
- Able, willing and committed to work with people of different backgrounds
- Contribute constructively to a working environment based on mutual respect, trust and commitment
- Able to cope with stress and work under difficult circumstances
- If s/he is to work with the private sector, s/he needs to be a dynamic and good in strategic Networking.
