Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) was founded in 1994 and is actively engaged for the promotion of Dalit rights through elimination of caste and gender-based discrimination and creation of a just and equitable society. FEDO is managing and implementing the project 'Ensuring Universal WASH Rights in Nepal' in Siraha till March 2018 funded by Big Lottery and WaterAid Nepal. The purpose of the project is ensuing WASH rights of rural and urban communities (focused on Dalits and marginalized) through safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene in Siraha District, For this FEDO invites interested and qualified Nepali citizens to apply for District Project Coordinator (1) based on Siraha.

Responsibilities 

  • The major responsibility of District Project Coordinator is to coordinate with like-minded organizations and individuals and respective donor to implement the project activities towards achieving the results.
  • Support planning and implementation of project activities related to WASH Rights and Services at target district.
  • Coordinate with concerned stakeholders at district level to effectively implement the project activities. 
  • Supervise social mobilizers and provide them technical guidance to make program effectiveness.
  • Schedule and organize meetings/ events, prepare paperwork and other required task in advocacy efforts for WASH services and Rights.
  • Prepare detail project planning including process, indicators, time frame, budgeting, program nature, communication and coordination with the guidelines ofCentre Project Coordinator.
  • Monitor and record all the field activities through field visit and ensure the effective implementation. 
  • Prepare report on the progress of the project and submit them in timely to the Center Project Coordinator. 
  • Visit project areas and provide written feedback to subordinates as well as superiors on the status and progress of the project 

Required Skills and Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Public health, Social science or related field 
  • Experience in community Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), advocacy anddealing stakeholders /networking for promoting and protecting the WASH rights of Dalit women and other excluded groups
  • At least two years’ experience in implementation and providing skillful knowledge on WASH. 
  • Experience in conducting trainings for community empowerment and advocacy campaigns.
  • Good understanding of the socio-economic, legal and political context of Nepal, Dalit women movement and current debates and issues.
  • Competent in computer skills, esp. Microsoft Office Package.
  • Fluent spoken and written in Nepali and English.
  • Documentation skills in English and Nepali is a must.
