PeaceWin

PeaceWin is a non-government, not for profit making, social development organization. It works with marginalized groups, especially children, women, youths for promotion and practices of their social, economic, cultural rights. It addresses on program integration and mainstreaming of social issues (gender & caste discriminations, child marriage, anti-tobacco, HIV & AIDS Chhaupadi Pratha-female has to live in a hut far from a house during menstruation), good governance/ social accountability. It was established locally in 2047 B.S (1990 AD) at Atichaur VDC-4, Oligaun and registered in District Administration Office (DAO) office in B.S. 2049 Paush 5 (20 December 1992 AD). After the restoration of democracy in 1991, Nepalese society became politically free and aware their roles and responsibilities toward development. PeaceWin was initiated by rural farmers of Bajura, Atichaur collecting Rs. 100.00 from each households from 53 family. The basic working themes were agriculture products (vegetable), sanitation, forest conservation, school enrollment of girl child, saving-credit, reduce unnecessary expenses in social functions etc.

Details / requirements:

PeaceWin is a non-governmental and non-profit organization registered under the Social Development Organization Registered Act 2034 of Nepal in 1990. It envisions to establish a prosperous, equal, peaceful and just society through right-based campaigns, especially for women and children in the partnership of local, national and international non-governmental organizations with non-discriminatory practices based on religion, caste ethnicity and political affiliation. 

In the partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH), PeaceWin is in the process of implementing the project“Strengthening Food and Nutrition Security Resilience of Disadvantaged Population Groups in Bajura District” with an objective to strengthening and enhancing good governance and citizen awareness on food and nutrition security issues; agro-based value chain and market development; and nutrition awareness and promotion. The project will be implemented in Himali Rural Municipality and Budinanda Municipality, and over 3,000 households will directly be benefitted from the project. The project will closely be managed in coordination with local elected representatives and other stakeholders including both private and civic bodies.

To manage the project, PeaceWin is looking for the following positions:

District Project Coordinator (Livelihoods): total one in number

The position is based in Kolti, Bajura with at least 70% target area field visit. The position is responsible to coordinate all the project activities at the district of responsibility. The position prepares project reports such as quarterly, interim and final, and submits to the donor. The candidate must at least have a Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science with minimum of three years similar work experience. The candidates with Bachelors in Practical Sciences such as Forestry, Natural Science, etc with minimum five year’s similar work experience can also apply.

Governance Coordinator: total one in number

The position will manage the field and district level implementation of good governance activities; and provides technical backstopping to local governance staff. The position is based in Kolti, Bajura with minimum 70% field visits of target area. At least Bachelor Degree in any subject (however; Social Work, Law, Sociology academics are preferred) with five year similar work experience is required.
