Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal (TPO Nepal) is one of Nepal’s leading psychosocial organization. It was established in 2005 with the aim of promoting psychosocial well-being and mental health of children and families in conflict affected and other vulnerable communities through the development of sustainable, culturally-appropriate, and community-based psychosocial support systems. Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal (TPO Nepal) is one of Nepal’s leading organizations in the psychosocial and mental health field. It was established in 2005 with the aim of promoting psychosocial well-being and mental health of people in conflict affected and other vulnerable communities through the development of sustainable, culturally-appropriate, and community-based psychosocial support systems. Currently, the organization is implementing a research project "Group Problem Management Plus (PM+)" in Morang district. It is a 5-session counseling intervention using a cluster randomized controlled trial (c-RCT) for adults in distress. For this research project in Morang, TPO Nepal is seeking competent, committed and detail oriented candidates for the following position:
Position: District Coordinator

Time: June 2018 – July 2019

Candidate must be from Morang, Jhapa, or Sunsari district and familiar with Morang district.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation PM+ project in the selected program VDCs of Morang district
- Coordination with local government institution (including district public health office (DPHO), and other relevant stakeholders in the project district
- Conduct regular field visits to closely monitor field visit activities
- Coordination with local staff, field supervisors, and other project staff for their day to day activities
- Work closely with community stakeholders to implement PM+ sessions and other program activities.
- Coordination with mental health specialists and hospitals providing mental health services for treatment of severe cases
- Provide regular updates to PIs, Program Coordinator and other program staff
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Should have at least completed Master’s Degree in the relevant disciplines such as Public Health, sociology or other related disciplines
- At least three years of working experience in program/research implementation in the community setting
- Knowledge and previous work experience in mental health program or research
- Willing to work in multicultural environment
- Willingness to travel to remote areas of Morang district
- Good command on both written and spoken English and Nepali languages
- Able to mobilize in the field actively by driving scooter, motorbike, or other vehicles
