Christian Aid brings substantial expertise in emergency response, recovery and rehabilitation work, DRR, social Inclusion and Resilient Livelihoods with proven ability to deliver emergency food security and livelihood restoration support through its local partners. CA has a longstanding partnership with donors such as European Commission, ECHO, DFID, Irish Aid, USAID etc. for supporting humanitarian responses in South and South-East Asia region, for major emergencies. Christian Aid has contributed significantly to the regional resilience and humanitarian actions working closely with other institutions of excellence.

Compensation: NPR 1,142,976 to NPR 1,485,869 gross per annum + competitive benefits package

CA has been working in Nepal since 2004 through various partners and, in the aftermath of April 2015 earthquake, established an office in Nepal. CA is a member of AIN and registered with Social Welfare Council as INGO. CA believes in partnership with local partners providing credible voice to the excluded and marginalized through capacity enhancement and investment in local ‘in country’ capacity. Christian Aid is now looking to recruit an innovative and dynamic Country Office Manager to support our earthquake response programme in Nepal. 

About the role
You will be responsible for maintaining, developing and implementing essential logistics and administrative systems to enable the country team to function smoothly and effectively. You will proactively take responsibility for making things work, for example managing the relationships with external suppliers, providing logistics, travel, HR and IT support and managing safety and security of our staff and visitors. 

About you
You are systematic and proactive. You will impress us with your organisational skills and efficiency. You will also bring a solid knowledge of the key support functions such as Humanitarian logistics, HR IT & financial management, for our programme team. You are fluent in English and Nepali and bring strong interpersonal skills to our growing team.

It’s important that you are an inspiring person with intellect associated with the position, delegating to ensure core business systems function within Christian Aid Nepal as a whole. The role will be jointly responsible for making strategic decisions with other country leadership team members; and plays a significant role in shaping the country office’s team structure, culture and ability to use systems effectively.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in Humanitarian Logistics, Finance, HR and administration.
  • Proven experience of working on Emergencies, Finance and Accounting packages and HR Database.
  • Excellent communication skills. • Fluent in English and Nepali.
  • Strong partnership with government organizations including district administration and Social Welfare Council.
  • Familiar with development context of Nepal.
  • Successful experience in logistics, large scale Procurement, fleet management, budgets, finance, HR, IT, administration and business support policies.
  • Experience of working in partnership with local organization and ability to work in diverse, multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
  • Proven experience in review, monitoring and evaluation of programmes; using of quantitative and qualitative methods and approaches to support of programme development.
  • Strong and well developed analytical skills coupled with experience of writing reports that are usable by different stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge and commitment to explore new cost-effective options for the organization.
