Core Network Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily monitoring of Core server resources and key processes, reviewing system, and application logs.
2. Perform network performance tuning and ensure that the WiMAX Network/System is running smoothly and efficiently
3. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions and threats.
4. Provide IT training on the job IT training.
5. Coordinate with the Support team to handle calls from customers.
6. Monitoring the customer status to improve quality, minimize errors and track performance.Coordinate with Installation team/Field Technicians and assist them with installation issues remotely or on site if required.
7. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and practices.
8. Regular reporting the management regarding the progress, problems and solutions of open issues.
9. In case of problems that are not in his/her core competency, the candidate should be to identify and take abrupt action or report to the concerned division.
10. Ability to analyze critical issues and communicate with the global team and chase it until the issue is completely solved.
11. Perform required documentations of activities, tests and real-time implementations of networks/system and or other equipments.
12. Documenting network architectures and design for future reference.
13. Operational Maintenance and Administration of All Network Devices.
14. Ability to work remotely and in off hours when and where ever required.
15. Ready to travel and be relocated to various locations all over Nepal.

Skills Requirement

Networking Skills:

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting network and application solutions.
• Knowledge of or experience with standard LAN/WAN technologies and common network designs, internetworking technologies (routing and switching), VLANs and Firewalls.
• Knowledge and experience on IP addresses and addressing, TCP, UDP, NAT, Access Lists, DHCP Configuration and DNS communication.
• Good knowledge of IPv6 (experience preferred).
• Proven troubleshooting skills (LAN/WAN, Internet, packet capture utilities (e.g. Sniffer) such as Wire shark, servers, clients and applications.)
• Good knowledge of WiMAX Architecture (ASN, CSN, R3, R6, R4 Interfaces)

System Administration Skills:

• Experience/knowledge of server side operating systems based on Linux/Unix and Windows.
• Hands on experience in Linux/Unix from basic administration commands to troubleshooting and configurations. Knowledge and experience in bash scripting and Perl is preferred.
• In depth Knowledge and experience of AAA Server.
• Knowledge and experience on authentication protocols, Radius, Diameter, CRTB, Time Quota, and Volume Quota is highly preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in databases (MSSQL and Oracle) and mirroring techniques and redundant architectures.

Required Certifications: CCNA, RHCE

Experience: 5 Years (ISP experience preferred)
