Community Disability Workers

HomeNet Nepal (HNN) is non-profit Organization having nationwide network of Membership based Organization of urban poor. It has been regular in its priority areas such as livelihood, inclusion, recognition and safety issues of urban poor especially of women since its establishments in 2001. In the partnership with Handicap International for the Social Inclusion Project being implemented in Kathmandu Valley, HNN is seeking a Community based Disability Worker (CDW) position shortly.HNN invites application for the interested and competent Nepali Citizens within Kathmandu valley, who meets the criteria and requirements by 29th December, 2014.

Position: Community Disability Workers (CDW) for Lalitpur district- 1

Qualification:

• Bachelors in Sociology or Social Science with 3 years experience working as community workers or +2 level of education with 5 years experience in community mobilization. 
• Prior experience in social counseling and negotiable skill will be added value and local candidate will be preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Identify the number, situation and needs of people with disabilities at VDC/Municipality level.
• Support and Co-ordinate with inclusion Officer in Planning and reporting.
• Mapp livelihood opportunities and support people with disabilities to integrate in existing livelihood services/opportunities in focused areas.
• Provide social support to people with disabilities for their socio-economic empowerment.
• Develop linkage of the people with disabilities with local and district level stakeholders.
