One Heart Worldwide

One Heart Worldwide (OHW) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that has been working in the area of Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH) since 2011. OHW works with local communities and local health service providers to develop a culturally appropriate Network of Safety around mothers and infants, by raising awareness, teaching good practices, and distributing essential equipment to ensure that mothers and infants survive delivery and the first months of life.

One Heart World-Wide (OHW) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that has been working in the area of Maternal and Neonatal Health for the past ten years. One Heart World-Wide is currently working in nine districts of Nepal and scaling program in few new districts.

OHW is currently seeking interested research agencies to conduct a baseline survey of the new program districts (Okhaldhunga, Sankhuwasabha and Ilam) to allow future monitoring of progress made by the project. The survey aims to determine the numbers of maternal and neonatal deaths in the past 3 years and then to estimate maternal mortality rate, maternal mortality ratio and neonatal mortality rate. The study team will first obtain data on all maternal and neonatal death in the whole district through interviewing and gathering information on deaths from local health facilities, Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs), community leaders, teachers and religious leadersusing protocols and tools already developed and used by OHW in the past. Mortality estimates should be done using HMIS data for live births.

The research agencies are required to submit a technical and cost proposal along with institutional profile of the organization, experiences in a similar type of work, institutional capacity and CVs of major proposed staff to carry out the survey by 31st August 2017.
