Position:  Band A2L – Renewable Energy Advisor (SAIC)

DFID Nepal is looking for an adviser to support the delivery of the Nepal Renewable Energy Programme. The adviser will have an important role as the development partner coordinator in the off-grid renewable energy sector. The adviser will support DFID in its new role as lead donor in the renewable energy sector.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS:

  • Masters level degree in a relevant discipline (for example climate change, energy, infrastructure or social sciences)
  • At least 5 years’ of relevant experience e.g. working on renewable energy or a related field in Nepal.
  • DFID is looking for a candidate that can work independently and shape their own portfolio of work.
  • Good IT skills, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Nepali - spoken as well as written.
  • Ability to work at pace across multiple work streams .
  • Strong management and people skills .
  • Excellent ability to work across cultures, time zones and disciplines with a wide range of stakeholders.
