Restless Development, the youth-led development agency, has been the global leader in engaging and supporting young people to address the most urgent issues affecting their lives, communities and countries since 1985. Currently, Restless Development Nepal is working in formal partnership with Ministry of Youth and Sports and multiple bilateral organizations.

 

Restless Development has been implementing the programme, ‘Youth Participation in Development Process (YPDP) in partnership with UNFPA to contribute to strengthening local and national youth networks/organizations systems and programs to achieve sustainable, positive youth outcomes in health including reproductive health and rights, education, civic and economic empowerment, and to increase youth engagement in the national development process for sustainable development.

 

Restless Development has currently developed a “Big Idea” project to support youth-led community based organizations to participate in the development of policies for creating a more enabling environment for meaningful participation of youth in decision making process. It has been also implementing the programme ‘International Citizens’ Service (ICS) in Dolakha district to empower the local young people together with national and international young people (volunteer) in community works.

 

Restless Development is now seeking highly motivated and dynamic individuals to fill the following positions;

1)      Assistant Programme Coordinator (APC) position based in Kathmandu with extensive field travel. This position will report to Programme Coordinator and will manage Programme officers and Interns.

 

Responsibilities

·          Lead in developing and delivery of the training package related to evidence based advocacy, local planning process and result based management 

·          Take lead role on training facilitation and capacity building of stakeholders in district and national level

·          Develop periodic programme report

·          Lead the ‘Big Idea’ concept implementation

·          Work in close coordination with Programme Coordinator

 

Required Qualifications

·          A relevant University degree in Social Sciences and any other discipline

·          At least 4 years development work experience with young people with a particular focus on capacity building, on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), Livelihood and Civic Participation

 

2)     Programme Assistant (PA) position based in Dolakha.

Responsibilities

·          Work with the  ICS Programme Officer /APC to prepare and sensitise the schools and communities for the Restless Development programme

·          Provide ongoing support to the Volunteer Peer Educators (VPEs) while they are in placement – personal welfare, health, safety, security and professional support

·          Monitor the VPEs activities in the placements

·          Assist PO/APC to plan, implement, support and supervise the Restless Development Nepal programme in the district

 

Required Qualifications

·          Bachelor degree in social science or any relevant discipline 

·          At least one year’s work experience in development sector/ volunteer organisation
