ADMINISTRATOR / FINANCE ASSISTANT

Place of assignment: Kathmandu, Nepal

Reporting to: Emergency Coordinator/ Finance Officer

Starting date: ASAP

People in Need (PIN) is an international non – governmental organization with headquarters in Prague, the Czech Republic. In its 20 years of history, PIN was working in over 40 countries in relief, development and human rights and democracy support projects. People in Need is a member of the Alliance 2015 – European NGO Network. For more information visit www.peopleinneed.cz. After the earthquake in Nepal in April 2015, PIN joined the emergency response to support the most affected communities in Nepal.

Administrator/Finance Assistant is in charge of all administrative operations related to PIN office in Kathmandu and is responsible for petty cash management. He/she is also responsible for implementation and follow-up of PIN financial and administration procedures. .

Your responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all administrative platforms for the routine administrative affairs: office management,  HR related tasks, movement planning, and other secretary tasks
  • Communication with local authorities
  • Petty cash management
  • Check, record and  file invoices and cash documents
  • Maintain Admin filing system and databases
  • Inventory evidence
  • Compilation and evidence of contracts with suppliers and service providers
  • Assist international staff  as a translator of documents or conversation as required
  • Research contact numbers, addresses and other required information upon request
  • Perform other administrative and finance duties incidental as needed and as assigned by the PIN staff

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in administration or finance
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work in stress situations
