Aide et Action was established in 1981. A specialist in development through education, intervenes in 26 countries, across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. Through over 100 projects, Aide et Action, along with its partners, contributes to improving access to education and the quality of education for over 3 million children and works with a vision of “a world where dignity is ensured for all men, women and children through education-the lever of human development”.  

In South Asia, AEAI-SA (www.aea-southasia.org) has its regional offices in seven different places in India i.e. Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Patna and country offices in Sri Lanka and Nepal.  In this context, AEAI-SA seeks to fill in the following position.

Position: Accounts & Administration Officer (1)

Location: Nepal

JOB PROFILE:

The incumbent would primarily be responsible for Accounting & Administrative requirements for the regional office and its directly implemented projects as described below:

Maintenance of Books of Accounts: Ensure posting of transactions on a daily basis, maintaining relevant vouchers, registers, etc.  Be responsible for disbursements and verification of bills/vouchers. 

Financial control systems: Planning, review/audit and tracking of accounts and budgets. Establish an accounting compliance system and Management Information System in the region and support establishing accounting and accounting compliance system for its projects.

Statutory Compliances: Adherence to statutory Taxation and Financial laws from time to time, internal and external audit reports, Financial Audit of the projects in the region.

Organization Obligations: Adherence to Finance and HR Manual and stakeholder’s agreements.

Reporting system: Preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, half and annual Financial Progress Report of Region and its projects.  

Preparation of Final Accounts: This would include drawing  up a balance sheet, income & expenditure and receipts and payments at the end of the calendar year (Jan-Dec) and also for the Nepalese financial year for further certification of accounts by a Chartered Accountant.

Public Relations: Maintain Public Relations with Govt. Officials & liaison with other stakeholders.

Office administration: Record keeping and office maintenance; Employee’s attendance and support  in the Staff Insurance process for staff based in the region.

Procurement and Logistic support 

Capacity building of project finance and administration team 

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION:

Educational Requirement: Should be a Post Graduate or Graduate in Commerce/Finance.

Experience required:  Should possess two to five years of experience, preferably in the development sector. (Applicants with experience within this range only will be shortlisted)

Competencies Required:  Should possess knowledge and skills in finance, accounting systems, taxation, MIS and Accounting packages (ERP, Tally), financial documentation and report writing skills. Should possess analytical, team work, time management and delegation skills.  Applicants should also be open to travel extensively in the field as and when required.

Remuneration: Monthly gross of NR.37,000 to NR.41,000 (in line with the compensation guidelines of the organization.
