PlaNet Finance has been registered as an INGO in Nepal since 2005 and has been delivering programs on its fields of expertise: Financial inclusion/microfinance, Entrepreneurship & Skills development, and Sustainable Business innovations.

The Positive Planet is looking for an Accountant (1 Year Fulltime contracts; renewable) 

The Accountant will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare journal vouchers, ledger for the office and project expenditure and update the financial documents regularly
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Check the budget and expenses variance
• Prepare monthly bankreconciliationreports
• Record daily transaction and prepare for auditing
• Prepares monthly and quarterly financial reporting in respect to donor’s compliance
• Support for banking process and procedures regarding fund management.
• Review all payment vouchers with supporting documents.
• Manage and operate the petty cash fund.
• consolidate a global vision of the accounting status of all the partners through the supervision of accounting deliverable of Positive Planetpartners accountants
• Ensure that the project accounts are ready for the annual audits coming from the EU and the Nepalese authorities.
• Calculate every month the TDS, EPF and CIT payments and is in charge of its deposit.
• Work as in charge to complete and improve the accounting & financial procedures for the office and project expenditure.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors in Management (specialization in accounting) / MBA preferred 
• At least 2 years of experience in NGO/INGO.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Should have knowledge on present Income tax / VAT laws, internal & final audit as well as Nepal accounting standards
• Knowledge on IDS and Tally software preferred 
• Has in-depth knowledge and understanding and disseminating the EU Accounting Best Practices to his accounting counterpart. Experience in INGOs is preferable
• Fluency in English is a must

DUTY STATION: Kathmandu with frequent field visits in the districts, travels in Asia when necessary
