DFID, THE DEPARTMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, that manages Britain's aid to poor countries. More information is at https://www.gov. uk/govemment/world/nepal/. DFID Nepal is seeking to fill the following position inviting applications from interested and experienced Nepalese candidates.
POSITION : A2 HEALTH ADVISER (2 years Fixed Term - contract)
The post holder will be part of the Governance and Service Delivery Team. This is a two year fixed term post.
The job holder will work closely with the UK Health Adviser and the Programme Managers in delivering the health objectives and in contributing to the corporate requirements of the office. This is a challenging position that requires a creative and pro-active adviser. S/he will take joint lead on engagement in the Nepal Health Sector Programme (NHSP-2) and management of DFID's technical assistance support to NHSP-2, lead on health results and spend, contribute to DFID Nepal corporate priorities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS:
- A Master's degree in Public Health or a related field.
- At least 5 years experience working in health sector with an emphasis on public health, preferably in Nepal.
- Delivery of strategic public health advice at national policy level including experience of working directly with Government of Nepal.
- Proven ability to analyse and use complex information to support policy development.
