One Heart Worldwide (OHW) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that has been working in the area of Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH) since 2011. OHW works with local communities and local health service providers to develop a culturally appropriate Network of Safety around mothers and infants, by raising awareness, teaching good practices, and distributing essential equipment to ensure that mothers and infants survive delivery and the first months of life.

One Heart World-Wide (OHW) is an International Non-governmental Organization that has been working in the area of maternal and child health for the past ten years. OHW has been in Nepal since 2010 supporting MOH to strengthen district health system to improve maternal and neonatal health services across entire districts where it worked. We are implementing Network of Safety for mothers and newborns in five districts and is in the process of scaling in the newer districts in the coming years.

OHW is seeking experienced and result-oriented Nepali professionalsfor the following positions:

Position: Training/Field supervisors (Few positions to be based in respective District Headquarters in central and eastern Nepal) with need for frequent field visits.

Repots to- District Coordinator

Key responsibilities: 

  • Take active lead to build sound relationships with District (Public) Health Office, program focal person, health facility staff, community stakeholders and female community health volunteers in order to maintain program schedule and achieve program deliverables at the field level 
  • Provide close and continuous support to implement "Network of Safety" for mothers and childrenincluding CB-IMNCH, Birthing Centers, and HFOMC strengthening and community level advocacy.
  • List out the program needs and the logistics at health facilities and ensure the timely delivery at the designated  facilities.
  • Provide technical support visits to birthing centers, health workers and FCHVs with special focus on capacity building on data reporting, recording,  andclinical skills.
  • Coordinate to ensure logistics and daily activities in all program locations.
  • Participate, represent and co-ordinate at the district, facility level and community level 
  • Frequent field visits to facilitate the implementation process, training, data collection, and program follow up.
  • Provide support to program managers and the District Coordinator in the district level birthing center need and quality of care assessments and in the report writings.
  • Collect routine data from health facilities and communities.
  • Work together with the supervisor to conduct the performance review and development plan annually.
  • Contribute to prepare regular progress reports, technical deliverables, presentations, and district work plans
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual progress report 
  • Any other job assigned by the Supervisor or program manager

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Nepali Citizens
  • With minimum ANM, CMA level trainings with 6 years of experience in the maternal and child health. PCL nursing or Health Assistance from a recognized academic institution with  minimum three years of experience in the related field or Bachelor level education in the health sciences with 1-2 years of experience in the maternal and child health programs.
  • Ability to function as a self-starter with limited supervision
  • Knowledge and experience using MS-Office packages and statistical packages, email and internet.
  • Good verbal and written communication in English and Nepali
  • Good inter-personal skills, and experience of working in a team 
  • Good clinical skills, and experience with program oversight in MCH.
  • Knowledge and experience in program and community level training 
  • Practical experience in facilitation and interaction with government counterpart/local stakeholders at different local health facilities, and ability to deal with various stakeholders 
  • Able to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment
  • Sets high standards for quality of work and consistently achieves project goals
