Our technical staff on the ground now includes physicians, nurses, surgeons, as well as specialists in water, sanitation and hygiene, mental health and psycho-social support and nutrition.

Details / requirements:

JOB SUMMARY:

1. Training Consultant will be responsible to conduct the trainings for health care providers to manage SAM children with medical complications as per WHO Training Manual in Kathamandu Valley.

2. Prepare Training Report and submit it to Nutrition Focal Person after completion of training. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilites:

  • He/she will be responsible to prepare training material before hand and  discuss the training schedule with Nutrition Focal Person.
  • He/she will be responsible to conduct the training as per the WHO training manual and guidleines.
  • He/she will be able to use different training methodologies as per WHO guideline.This will include 1:1 sessions, group discussions, power point presentations, lecture, role play and practical sessions.
  • He/she will be responsible to coordinate and organize the practical sessions at respective ditrict hospitals.
  • He/she will be resonsible to prepare comprehensive training report after completion of training. The contents of the report will be discussed and agreed with IMC team.
  • He/she will be responsible to manage logistics in consultation with IMC staff during training period.
  • He/she will also administer Pre & Post tests and performance checks, coordinate with IMC team, report results and issues as needed.
  • Training Consultant will collaborate with subject matter experts and Nutrition Focal Person to continually improve training.

Timeframe:

The services of consultants are reuired for 14 working days. The first day  must be allocated for planning with IMC team and preparation of materials. Three Days after the training must be allocated for the preparation of report.

Minimum Education and Qualification:

  • Preferrably Paediatrician, Medical Doctor or registered nurse or related field.
  • Previous experience in conducting the training specially regarding In-patient  Management of SAM with medical complications.
  • Fluent in English and Nepali language.
  • MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel experience required.
  • Experience in writing quality training report and summary report.
