Community Development Society (CDS) is a non-profit making, non-governmental social development organization established in September 2001 under the Society Registration Act 1977 of Nepal. CDS has been working with clear vision of Establishment of ‘Self-reliant, Healthy and Equitable society’. CDS has been working in the sector of livelihood, small-scale infrastructure development, health and sanitation, education, renewable energy, peace and good governance for the past 14 years. In this connection, CDS is implementing reconstruction-project in Bijulikot VDC of Ramechhap district named “Housing Reconstruction Assistance Project” in partnership with Medair.

This reconstruction project focuses on improving resilience and safe shelter conditions among earthquake affected households along with sanitation support in Bijulikot VDC of Ramechhap district. It will support in reconstruction of 1263 houses of all 9 wards in Bijulikot VDC based on NRA enrolment. In this regard, CDS is seeking few innovative, self-motivated and dynamic personnel for the following positions:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Works on a team to perform tasks as directed and make coordination for the Shelter and Infrastructure project in close contact with project coordinator in order to meet the project objectives within budget and within the allocated time frame
  • Continuously monitor and supervise activities, overseeing the technical design and execution and evaluating progress through outputs and impacts using both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation and accountability in all aspects of the project
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to CDS other applicable timeframes and formats to the project coordinator.
  • Coordinate liaison and networking relationships with Medair, communities, government partners, community level partners and other stakeholders in Bijulikot VDC to implement proposed housing reconstruction project. 
  • Support in organisation of logistics (materials, venue, refreshments, incentives and other needs) on implementing project activities. 
  • Coordination of KAP, FGD, PDM surveys that will be conducted at field level. 
  • Compilation of the pre- and post- KAP surveys and reporting forms. 
  • Ensuring all necessary government documentation and permission is arranged and received to carry out project activities.
  • Preparation of case study and success story on best practise. 
  • To provide technically correct, interactive training and follow up to communities. 
  • Line-manage field staff assigned project, including day-to-day management, development and training, appraisals, etc. 
  • Assess the training needs of staff and ensure that appropriate training is conducted
  • Responsible to ensure that all reporting and administration work is done according to the relevant guidelines and is reported accurately and within the timeline and budget provided

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social sciences or related area or studies
  • Relevant  2 years experience of working with communities and project management experience
  • Good in English and Nepali speaking and Writing

Note:
