A Storekeeper (M/F) 

For Nepal based in Sukute (Sindhupalchowk)

It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations.

MdM currently works in 46 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, combating HIV and reducing the harm and risks associated with drug use, crises and conflicts.  

MDM has been working in Nepal since 1995 and is currently implementing a project in Sindhupalchowk District that aims at providing relief to populations affected by the earthquake.

TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES: 

  • The Store Keeper will work under the responsibility of the program logistician and the Logistic Coordinator.
  • S/he is in charge of the in and out materials and equipment’s movements. The store keeper is responsible for the follow-up of the movements of inputs and outputs as well as for the good stocks organization.
  • S/He is in charge of the respect and follow-up of all MDM logistic procedures.

DETAILED ACTIVITIES

Inventory management

  • Ensure an appropriate identification of every entry and out of materials and equipment (quantity, quality, and delivery).
  • Respect the MDM procedures of management of stock (recordings, update, and identification).
  • Respect the constraints of layout stock required by MDM (organization, cleanliness, aeration, availability in the schedules of the week).
  • Ensure the logistic seizure of flows (waybill, inventory...) in the database.
  • Make a monthly stock inventory and make sure that the stock cards are created, updated and exact. Anticipate the shortages of certain products necessary for the mission or for the activities (stock buffer, warning levels, lapsing).
  • Ensure the reassurance of the stock and report any breach.
  • Indicate as soon as possible any disappearance of materials or equipment contained in the stock.

Orders preparation

  • Prepare all the shipment documents (Exit bill, Delivery bill, waybill, etc.) for routing towards the programs or the inter-bases.
  • Ensure the preparation and the loads of the goods in transport vehicles.
  • Ensure the realization and the archiving of the various documents for donation or loan.
  • Receive the freight on arrival and Controls quality and quantity.
  • Establish a report of damage during a damaged load.

Meetings / Reporting / archiving

  • Participate in the punctual meetings organized for the needs for the logistic department/of the program
  • The store keeper will send an inventory of monthly stock to his person in charge on the 5th of every month.
  • Collect, compile and makes the classification of all the documentations of inputs and outgoing, and documentations of stock management following the general procedures.

General Behaviour

  • Inform his (her) superior (and only its superior) in case of absence or delay during working hours.
  • At any time can be brought to support the rest of the logistic team

This list of tasks is not exhaustive and other tasks can be asked by the immediate superior according to the needs for the program. Besides, it’s expected on behalf of the collaborator (trice) certain degree of flexibility and adaptation following the potential evolution of the constraints of the mission.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Starting: As Soon As Possible
  • Contract: Employee With fixed term contract (2 months, renewable) / Full time 
  • Based in Sukute in Sindhupalchowk 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Knowledge of Shindupalchowk area
  • Excellent capacity for analyzing of needs, organization and anticipation
  • Be aware that Logistic is also paperwork, excel files and word documents
  • Ability to work quickly, under pressure, and with short deadlines,
  • Good knowledge in IT (word, Excel)
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements,
  • Languages: Nepali, English mandatory
  • Team spirit

  • Good communication skills
