INTRODUCTION:

 

Action for Child Rights International/ Nepal's mission is to fight against the different forms of abuse in and around child care homes. In the first place we defend the victims, next to that we file complaints against those responsible and reveal the structural problems behind these situations.

As an umbrella organization to ACR International, we follow up every complaint, take all the necessary actions and make public accusations without being halted by any other interests than those of the victims.

Job Description:

 

Social worker will be a victim oriented position who will be highly motivated to cater to all the work on the wellbeing of the victims and witnesses. This person will focus on the ongoing cases and help out the case department on any work that involves a victim. The main focus of this person will be to make sure he/she empathizes with the victim and feels strongly about finding solutions for other people.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

-          Social worker will be responsible for the wellbeing of the victims and their families fromt he intake of a new case till the final solutions is found for the vicitims

-          Familiarize with the cases and the procedures, support on the ongoing cases in regards to the needs of the victims and witnesses

-          Counseling to the victims and witnesses

-          Finding long term partnership on counseling, transit home and any other requirements of the victims and witnesses

-          Build up contact strategies in dealing with victims, families and other acquintances

-          Create a support system in line with victim support

-          Coordinate with other experts, ACR-branches, organizations, etc in finding solutions for the victims’ problems.

 

 

 

 

Profile:

 

-          You have good communication skills and counselling skills to deal with victims, supporters and witnesses from varous diverse backgrounds

-          You have a good analytical skills to identify problems and find solutions, also testing the genuinity and urgency of the cases

-          You have completed Bachelors level education  Social Work or related field.

-          You have more than 2 years of experience working on similar areas of work.

-          You have good writing skills in both Nepali and English

-          You are willing to work on flexible timings when necessary

-          You have a basic computer knowledge and good command of English.

-          Preferably someone with his/her own transportation.
