It has paid its especial consideration/attention to work with deprived and marginalized people of the country adopting the methods of optimum utilization of local resources and technology 

Action Nepal partnership with OXFAM is seeking dynamic energetic and result oriented professionals for the following positions to intervene WaSH, SHELTER, EFSVL,DRR and GENDER Project in 2 VDCs (Satyadevi and Tripureswor) of Dhading district.

Shelter Officer (Engineer)

Educational Qualification:  Bachelor in Civil Engineering 

Report To: Project coordinator 

PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION/ KEY RESPONSIBILITY 

• Carry out activities based on approved plan and budget.
• Design, drawing, estimation and scheduling of Irrigation scheme and various construction works.
• Preparations of bill of quantities and specification and supervise/ monitor civil construction activities.
• Deliver knowledge and skill based Trainings for construction workforce (Sub-Engineers, User committee, Mason etc.)
• Community mobilization, capacity building of various stakeholders.
• Coordination with Government line agencies, NGOs, development partners & stakeholders.
• Carry out assessment survey and construction work in field as per approved drawing and estimation.
• Prepare  monthly field report, project reports, case studies, success story, best Practices of all activities.
• Maintain the Daily site report of construction work.
• Assist and assure the quality of construction materials during procurement and delivery.
• Regular supervision of construction work assuring completion of work in time with quality.
• Monitoring to Sub Engineer and social mobilizer for smooth progress of work.
• Management of manpower, materials and tools/equipment for effective construction work.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:  

Professional skills and qualification needed in the position 

• Bachelor in Civil Engineering  and at least 2 years experience in construction
• Knowledge of assessment survey, designs, working drawings, construction materials and techniques.
• Knowledge of Microsoft excels especially for design, estimation and billing purpose.
• Expertise of AutoCAD, SAP drawing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali including demonstrable ability to work with others and as part of a team;
• Knowledge and skills in computer usage including word, excel, power point, and social media;
• Good organizational skills;
• Effective member of team and role model;
• Demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards.
• Acquaintance on disaster risk management, construction in rural areas will be an advantage.
