Our technical staff on the ground now includes physicians, nurses, surgeons, as well as specialists in water, sanitation and hygiene, mental health and psycho-social support and nutrition.

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Program Manager and Program Officer, the Program Assistant provides support to the management of SRHR programming.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Support in new Program and Strategy Development

  • Assist the leadership and program team on program development.

  • Lead in the preparation of research and evidenced-based concept notes

  • Write detailed, high quality proposals for large statutory/institutional donors in coordination with Technical Managers and Program Coordinator/

  • Developing tools for assessments in conjunction with the PDO and technical staff and conduct background research in advance of the assessment.

  • Assist the SMT with research, such as identifying potential donors, partners and their strategies and Key Working Relationships

  • The position holder will work closely with the technical team consisting of the health, reproductive health, protection, nutrition, and WASH teams.

  • Prepare recurring reports as scheduled and special reports as required for program support department

  • Assist international advisors and national consultants on all aspects of allowances, travel claims and other financial matters and calculate payments due for claims and services;

  • Undertake other financial and administrative tasks on an ad-hoc basis

     

    REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelors degree in Public Health, International Development and/or relevant field of study

  • Two to three years experience in program design and evaluation,

  • Familiarity with international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs

  • Cross-cultural awareness and insight into sexual reproductive  care issues

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions with limited supervision

  • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations

  • Creative and able to work with limited resources

  • Team player and strong communication skills, both oral and written in English and Nepali

  • Proficient in computer applications, especially with MS Word and MS Excel, MS PowerPoint a plus
