Mercy Corps Nepal works to build the absorptive, adaptive and transformative potential of vulnerable individuals and communities across Nepal. Mercy Corps began operations in Nepal in 2005, and since then has implemented projects in the sectors of economic and food security; climate, natural resource and disaster risk management; youth engagement; with the inclusion of women and disadvantaged groups as important cross-cutting themes throughout each intervention area.

Sustainable Access to Finance and Livelihoods (SAFAL) is a project funded by the UK Government with the goal to reduce poverty in remote and rural areas of Nepal, particularly hill and mountain communities through sustainable access to finance, appropriate livelihood opportunities and local institution strengthening.

Mercy Corps invites proposals from IT consultants/firms to i) design, test and launch a user friendly MIS system for community based financial institutions  and ii) design a central monitoring system for financial institutions.

The main objective is to develop an automated simplified tool of designing, testing and launching a user friendly MIS system for community based financial institutions and a central monitoring system for financial institutions to support the work of the operational areas to perform the different processes: identifying the beneficiary households, compliance monitoring, payment cyclical generation, and other support for the overall administration of the program, updating the families, register complaints, and management indicators.

IT consultants/firms with proven familiarity and expertise in design and implementation of similar projects are requested to submit a brief technical and financial proposal along with the following documents by 25th August 2014 to the address given below:

1. Expression of interest (EOI) outlining how the consultant(s)/firms will meet the above criteria and their understanding of ToR and methodology

2. A proposed activities schedule/work plan with time frame along with financial proposal including consultant(s) itemized fees, tools and equipment requirement, administrative and logistics cost.

3. Copy of CV of consultant(s) who will undertake the survey

4. One recent example of similar MIS design by applicant, including the contact of client.

5. Copies of registration certificate and VAT/PAN registration.
