Our technical staff on the ground now includes physicians, nurses, surgeons, as well as specialists in water, sanitation and hygiene, mental health and psycho-social support and nutrition.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Reproductive Health Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Program Director and will have overall responsibility for coordination and oversight of the activities of the Reproductive Health Program. Position is based in Kathmandu, Nepal with expected frequent visits to the field sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management and program development

  • Manage all aspects of the Reproductive Health Program including recruitment, supervision and capacity building of RH staff
  • Review project proposal materials and develop detailed implementation and monitoring plans and adapt program to changing context as needed
  • Ensure that all activities, indicators and objectives are successfully met within the project timeframe and allocated budget
  • Work with finance, logistics, HR/admin and security to ensure smooth implementation of project activities
  • Design and conduct surveys and assessment to inform program strategy and approach
  • Liaison with the M&E department on appropriate management of relevant data and RH reports

Implementing partners

  • Provide overall Reproductive Health technical oversight and monitoring of all activities (including through regular site visits) to ensure interventions are evidence based, culturally appropriate, cost-effective, and high impact.
  • Supervise all partners in operationalizing the IMC RH strategy and facilitate relevant technical capacity development
  • Ensure appropriate treatment of beneficiaries in general, and mainly those requiring clinical RH services within IMC / partner programs and ensure that the system for referral cases is developed and functioning efficiently and with optimal results

Policies, guidelines, and coordination

  • Adhere to IMC Code of Conduct and internationally accepted humanitarian principles
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps
  • Review, and disseminate guidelines, standards of practice, protocols and other tools on Reproductive Health to improve quality of service delivery
  • Participate in development, preparation, and dissemination of IEC materials
  • Work closely with other counter parts to identify and build cross-sectoral programming
  • Attend coordination meetings and work closely with other partners in RH ensuring access to the services and to avoiding duplication of efforts

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • MPH degree or equivalent
  • Over 3 years of experience managing Reproductive projects and managing staff ensuring quality of reproductive health services
  • Technical expertise in the components of integrated Reproductive Health, quality improvement, and other selected RH/FP services through NGO or private commercial channels,
  • Excellent facilitation skill and experienced in building capacity of staff, both internally and externally,
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with relevant stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and health service providers
  • Demonstrated capacity to oversee development of work plans and report preparation
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills,
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural, teamwork, ability to maintain a positive working relationship with clients and colleagues with professionalism and integrity

Proficiency in using relevant software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
