Nepal Public Health Foundation (NPHF) was established in April 2010 with a mission to have concerted public health action, research, and policy dialogue for health development, particularly of the socio-economically marginalized population. NPHF has a vision to ensure health as the right and responsibility of the Nepali people with its focus on major public health issues such as Health Policy and Systems, Human Resource, Communicable Disease, Non-Communicable Disease, Malnutrition etc. Nepal Public Health Foundation (NPHF) is committed to improve health system, generating quality evidences for policy formulation process through high quality survey and operational research.

Details / requirements:

Nepal Public Health Foundation (NPHF) is seeking dynamic, energetic individuals for a project related to exploration of community based health insurance practices in Nepal starting from Mid Jan, 2017.

Position: Project Officer

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Duty Station: Kathmandu, field visit as per the project need

Job Responsibilities

The project is about exploration of community based health insurance practices in different parts of Nepal with the duration of 8 months.

Project officer will be based at NPHF office, Kathmandu however s/he has to travel to the field as per the project need. Under the direct supervision of project coordinator, the officer has to do the following jobs: review relevant literature, coordinate all the activities in the field for data collection, document the field activities, transcribe and translate the qualitative data and prepare reports. In addition, s/he will coordinate in organizing meetings; contribute in paper writing and publications.

Required Qualification: Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) with relevant experience

Skills and Experience

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in team and also with other stakeholders
  • Better skills in reviewing literature and writing report
  • Familiarity with the structure and functions health system of Nepal
  • Basic knowledge on health financing issues in Nepal
  • Fluent in English and Nepali (both speaking and writing)
  • Better conceptual thinking and analytical skills
  • Good computer skills in Office Software (MS word, Excel, Power point, internet etc)

SALARY: As per NPHF’s financial rules 

DURATION: 8 months
