Clean Energy Nepal is an independent and nonprofit organization established in 2000. CEN conducts research based education and advocacy campaigns, public policy recommendations and pilot implementation programs on issues related to sustainable energy use and environmental conservation. CEN works in three thematic areas: i) Clean Air ii) Energy and Climate Change and iii) Water and Sanitation

Details / requirements:

Clean Energy Nepal (CEN), a non-profit organization is seeking qualified and experienced Nepali citizens for the following positions for the upcoming program:Nepal Early RecoveryResponse in Sindhupalchowk.

POSITION: PROJECT OFFICER (Technical)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure timely and adequate implementation of the CEN Shelter and WASHProgramme activities in line with the projectstrategy, Standard Operating Procedures, targets and deadlines: namely the identification of beneficiaries, Shelter Materials distribution, construction of the Transitional Shelters  and sanitation facilities and WASH promotion
  • Provide support in all engineering aspects of project activities including technical assessment, design and drawings, BoQ calculation, tendering, contracting, monitoring, financial follow up and reporting;
  • Ensure and monitor that the quality of construction materials are in compliance to programme specifications and shelter cluster recommendations;
  • Provide regular and detailed reports, including progress reports, stocks and logistics requirements;
  • Closely work with procurement and logistics assistants to ensure that required construction materials are procured and delivered to the respective sites in a timely manner;
  • Design, develop and provide necessary training for target communities to construct transitional shelter and sanitation facilities.


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least Bachelor degree in Architect or Civil Engineering with 1yearof relevant working experience in NGO
  • Experience of shelter related projects
  • Experience in organizing training need assessment.
  • Ability to monitor, analyze data and produce quality reports.
  • Able to facilitate trainings, meetings and workshops at all level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and coordination skill to work effectively in multi-cultural settings with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Good command over English and Nepali language and proficiency in MS Office Package.

TERMS AND LOCATION:

9 months and will be based in Sindhupalchowk.
