World Education works with disadvantaged communities and vulnerable population seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates for a Kathmandu based position with frequent field visits.

Job Title: Project Coordinator

Project: Food for Education Project

The Project Coordinator will work under the direct supervision and in close coordination with the Country Director.  In addition, she/he will work in close collaboration with district, regional and central level stakeholders.  She/he shall spend 50% of time travelling to the 6 remote district areas in Dailekh, Jajarkot, Bajhang, Dadeldhura, Baitadi and Darchula.

Major responsibilities

(a) Technical support

  • Developing and revising education/training materials, guidelines; 
  • Providing support on production and distribution of education materials;
  • Supervising and conducting Early Grade Reading activities that includes trainings, orientations, review meetings,  and other field-level activities;
  • Providing technical support and guidance to district based project staff and NGO partners.
  • Provide technical support to conduct Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA).

(b) Coordination and representation

  • Coordinating with implementing NGO partners and other district level stakeholders; 
  • Representing the organization in relevant central and regional level meetings and workshops.

(c) Program management

  • Supervising project staff and preparing work plans, budgets and expenses forecasts for all project components;
  • Preparing project progress reports and overseeing monitoring and evaluation activities;
  • Monitoring and facilitating timely submission of financial statements and projected expenses reports to the Country Director and Operations Director.

Qualifications / Experiences

  • Possess a Bachelors Degree in Education or equivalent work experience in relevant field
  • Minimum of five (5) years work experience with project management
  • Strong leadership, management, communications and facilitation skills
  • Experience in community mobilization and conducting trainings
  • Knowledge of Education Policy, Curriculum, Primary Education  and Early Grade Reading
  • Fluency in English with proven writing skills
  • Ability to frequently travel to remote areas
  • Basic computer knowledge on MS Word, Excel, Power
