Details / requirements:

Mission East, founded in Denmark in 1991, is an international humanitarian organisation, working in Eastern Europe and Asia. The organisation’s activities in Nepal presently focus on building the inclusion and resilience for the most marginalised and vulnerable groups living in Karnali and Earthquake Affected population.

Position: Programme Manager (Kathmandu with frequent travel visit to project implementation sites)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support periodic reviews of country strategy and project activities.
  • Prepare and manage an activity plan.
  • Support program team in implementation of project activities.
  • Work with NGO in-country and HQ advisors to ensure quality programming and implemented M&E.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners at all levels.
  • Coordinate NGO project activities with other NGO’s.
  • Preparation of new concept notes, proposals and in reporting to donors.
  • Monitor Country needs and guide development of new project activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master degree in a relevant subject such as Management / Development Studies / Humanities
  • 7 years work experience in senior management or leadership positions with a relief or development organization.
  • Experience in managing large relief or recovery projects, including financial management experience with multiple donor grants.
  • Knowledge of Sphere and other international humanitarian guidelines and protocols
  • Good report and proposal writing skills.
  • Committed to team-building and able to develop and support other team members.
  • Ability to facilitate programme and community interactions regardless of ethnicity, status or gender/ caste.
  • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks in order to facilitate the running of the project.
