TERMS OF REFERENCE

Project Coordinator - 3 Months (with possibility of extension)

DUTY STATION: Dhading Besi, Sindupalchok

ACTED BACKGROUND:

Since 1993, as an international non-governmental organization, ACTED has been committed to immediate humanitarian relief to support those in urgent need and protect people’s dignity, while co-creating longer term opportunities for sustainable growth and fulfilling people’s potential.

ACTED is present in four continents and our teams intervene in 34 countries towards 8 million people, responding to emergency situations, supporting rehabilitation projects and accompanying the dynamics of development

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of theProject Manager, key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Plan, direct and aid in the management and coordination of programs being implemented in the area (mainly shelter and WASH sectors);
  • Organize, attend and facilitate recurring meetings with various government sectors and NGOs at the district level and ensure proper follow up of all decisions and recommendations taken during these meetings;
  • Conduct training and capacity building of field staff;
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities and materials distributed;
  • Ensure effective integration and mainstreaming of gender into all programs;
  • Maintain good working relation with local communities, partner organizations and staff;
  • Other related duties assigned by the Project Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: 

Education and Work Experience: 

  • University degree;
  • 3 – 5 years of field experience with NGOs;
  • Experience and knowledge of shelter and WASH programming preferred;
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings;
  • Ability to mobilize and motivate groups of people;

Languages: Fluency in English and Nepali.
