FHI 360 , an international PVO, is seeking highly qualified and dynamic Nepali citizen for the following position to join its team:

Job Position: Program Officer – Far Western Region

The Program Officer (PO) is responsible for the management of USAID-funded Saath-Saath Project (SSP) program activities for the field office to ensure a strong, comprehensive program that responds to the specific unique situation in each district. The PO has to work closely with Team Leader and take lead for the management and coordination of SSP program activities in the field. S/he will be also responsible to:

  • Establish effective district and regional level collaboration with key stakeholders including DACCs, other government agencies, USAID partners, INGOs, NGOs, CBOs, beneficiary groups and all Implementing Partner Agencies (IAs).
  • Support development of evidence based district and regional level strategic plans in coordination with stakeholders and SSP Country Office (CO) to reflect community specific needs in each location.
  • Design and develop sub-agreements with assistance from SSP CO.
  • Ensure appropriate TA is provided and assist in strengthening the capacity of SSP IAs.
  • Ensure support to the implementation of all SSP partner activities in field.
  • Prepare monitoring plans and conduct field monitoring activities.
  • Coordinate quarterly regional review meetings with SSP staff (field and CO), partner agencies, representatives from other USAID supported HIV/AIDS programs and SSP IAs from each district for regular exchange of workplans and activities, data and information, tools, resources and success stories.

Qualifications:

Master’s level education (MPH, MA) with at least three years minimum work experience in health program implementation/management or Bachelor’s degree and minimum five years of relevant experience. Clinical skills (medical doctor or nurse) and experience in the area of HIV and AIDS preferred.

Skills/Qualities:

Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain positive relationships. Ability to initiate and implement activities with minimal supervision and manage high volume work flow with multiple tasks. Should also have strong negotiation, coordination, communication and interpersonal skills and should be resourceful in resolving problems and initiating solutions. Excellent verbal and written English skills required.
