Women Welfare Service (WWS), Humla is non-governmental organization registered in Humla and Mugu district. This organization was founded with the aim of working in extreme poverty and deprivation of women in Karnali. The objectives of the organization are to work for the poor and women. WWS has implemented varieties of development projects in cooperation and support of national and international governmental and non-governmental organizations for last 17 years. The main project activities of WWS are in- social mobilization, capacity development, income generation and infrastructure development. The most important approach of WWS in its work is ensuring inclusion of marginalized groups such women and excluded groups in development interventions.

Women Welfare Service (WWS) is a leading women led non-governmental organization in Humla established with an aim to work for women, deprived and marginalized people in extreme poverty and deprivation in Karnali. It has recently received 3 years project on “Empowering Vulnerable Women from Humla and Mugu of Midwestern Nepal†funded by Lakarmissionen. This project will be implemented together with funding partner Mission East Nepal (www.miseast.org) and the technical partner Samjhauta Nepal.
For this, WWS is seeking to recruit competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic Nepali candidate for the below mentioned position:
Job Position: Project Manager(PM)
Job Station: Simikot, Humla but with frequent field visits within Humla.
No. of vacancy: 1 (one)
Deadline to Apply: May 22, 2013
Period: 1 year with possibility of extension up to 30 months
Specific Responsibilities:
Overall management of women empowerment and capacity building project
Coach, mentor and supervise 7 field staffs in preparing and implementation of monthly work plan
Prepare monthly quarterly and annual report in consultation with Executive directors
Conduct regular meetings with WWS and partners’ staff and document
Design, modify and implement various trainings including women right based packages, gender, inclusion, etc
Coordinate and network with stakeholders related to gender and disability inclusion for better access to of the groups to development programme
Support Community Mobilizers and technical officer to ensure the quality of trainings and mobilization of vulnerable women in project area.
Coordinate and link the project with district and national level stakeholders
Explore and document resources (publications, act, regulation etc,.) related to gender and disability inclusion
Required Qualification and Experience
Bachelor degree in Social Science with 4 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 2 years of experience.
Person with academic background in gender and development will be given preference
Required Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of project management and aware with the issues and problems of Nepalese women and people with disability.
Good training, facilitation and networking skill.
Good oral and written communication skills and fluency in English and Nepali.
Proficient in computer applications, good report writing skill in English.
