We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented professional for the following positions with the new Nepal Seed and Fertilizer project, funded by USAID and led by CIMMYT:

We are seeking candidates with the following academic qualifications, skills and attitudes:

POSITION: Plant Breeders

Work Station: Nepalgunj, Dhangadi

Qualification:

• MSc in plant breeding or seed technology with minimum 3 years of experience in conducting trials or seed production in research farm.
• Significant and demonstrated practical experience in seed production.
• Excellent communication and team-building skills with a demonstrated ability to liaise with partners in the national system and local government
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate research results effectively to a wide range of audiences through peer reviewed Publications and other means.
• Description of the position
• Conduct Seed producibility & seed production research (SPR) on target crops
• Produce seed of pre-commercial hybrids/varieties for different trials and parental seed for SPR
• Coordinate SPR & seed production activities in collaboration with IRRI, CEPREAD, NARC, and seed companies at seed research centers.
• Provide SPR support to all NSAF partners in the region in conducting different SPR trials supporting seed systems.
• Provide practical training to researchers, seed company breeders, seed farmers on seed production.
