We are looking for dynamic team player in the following positions for our programme.

Level – D2 

TEAM PURPOSE:  To implement Oxfam GB’s public health promotion humanitarian earthquake response in order to meet urgent public health needs for Oxfam’s beneficiaries.

JOB PURPOSE:  To deliverthe public health promotion humanitarian response in Nepal.

DIMENSIONS: 

• Plan, implement and monitor the hygiene promotion intervention in conjunction  with the PHE 
• Support partners to manage health volunteers and WASH committees in a defined geographical area.
• Support partners to provide capacity-building support and accompaniment to the implementation of WASH committees and health volunteers on hygiene promotion, including training, provision of appropriate IEC materials, and distribution of NFIs and mentoring. 
• Work closely with other sectoral teams to ensure an integrated approach is applied in addressing the public health, EFSVL, gender and protection needs of the beneficiaries.
• Coordinate with CAMP and LDRC or community level authorities, including the camp or affected village management committees and IDP populations to ensure community participation and hygiene practices are improved.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• In collaboration with other members of the WASH team, conduct assessments and baseline studies in order to identify WASH-related health risks and priorities.
• Support partners to Collect, record and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
• Use assessment data to design participatory PHP interventions appropriate for the local context and culture.
• Provide weekly update reports  in coordination with partners (including data collects, minutes from meetings, and key achievements for the week)  
• Provide monthly  activity progress report  to the team leader in the given format 
• Support to partners in  ODF campaign   in the nine working VDCS using different community triggering tools 
• Support to partners in using the triggering tools for ODF campaign. 
• Coordinate  with other organizations at VDC level in achieving the ODF VDC  
• Support partners to identify, train and mobilise WASH committees and community health volunteers and enable them to effectively undertake the hygiene promotion outreach and mobilisation activities in the camps / community. 
• Support partners to carry out hygiene promotion sessions/activities  with volunteers and WASH committees to the wider community
• Ensure WASH committees and volunteers are able to supervise, manage and monitor the WASH facilities and mobilize IDPs/affected communities in taking action to improve high risk hygiene practices. 
• Ensure the implementation of hygiene promotion interventions for specific target groups  e.g. school children, women and men groups
• Carry out regular feedback to the volunteers, WASH committees and local authorities to ensure accountability and protection issues are taken action.
• Validate target beneficiaries for delivery of NFI distributions and conduct Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM).
• Monitor and report against key WASH and health indicators.
• Apply Oxfam’s minimum requirements on accountability to beneficiaries in the implementation of PHP activities
• Raise awareness and build capacity of community affected by disasters in adhering to Oxfam and international humanitarian standards
• To ensure that the programme take gender, protection issues fully into account. Ensure safe programming approach is undertaken at all stages of programme implementation. 
• Facilitate the  implementation of  the  recovery/transition phase of the emergency WASH programme focusing on promoting the communities resilience to future emergencies
• Provide regular and reliable narrative reports 
• Contribute to the design, management, and communication of a responsible exit strategy
• To monitor and report to the management the community level key issues and security incidents that impacts to the staff and programme.
• Identify and request  appropriate health promotion materials and equipments required for the project
• Coordination with partners and other team members to ensure coherent and consistent programming
• Maximize the value of integrated working with partners PHE, gender, EFSVL and logistics team
• Facilitate communication and cohesive working between PHEs and PHPs

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE: 

• A suitable qualification in any discipline relating to Public Health Promotion or degree in social science with at least two years practical experience in community mobilization and organization and appropriate community health and sanitation programmes.  
• Good understanding of the health and hygiene risks of IDPs, poor rural and urban communities and of appropriate ways of tackling them. Must be aware of and sensitive to the particular needs of women in this context.
• Ability to present concise reports, sometimes at short notice, reflecting the problems and possible solutions for particular situations.
• Capacity building of partners  in achieving the ODF 
• Knowledge of  community triggering tools  mainly CLTS  to support the ODF campaign 
• Coordinating skill with other organization to achieve the program objective.
• Flexibility and ease in working with local people have diplomacy, tact and administrative skills in order to work with people at managerial level, and occasionally government levels.
• Assessment, analytical and planning skills.
• Effective member of team; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards. 
• Capacity and desire to pass skills and information, confident communicator and willingness to work in collaboration with others and respectful to the community.
• Takes responsibility for own work and delegated project/processes 
• Good written and spoken English is essential
