PHP Application Developer

We are seeking an experienced PHP application/Web Programmer. As a PHP developer, the fundamental responsibility of this position is to take an active role in coding customer and internal applications. This position will work in a supportive team environment that will encourage creative thought. The position will develop applications and services that leverage MVC within an agile development process.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 1+ year of programming experience in PHP & MySql

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops custom database-driven complete web application or parts of it in PHP
• Implement the designs produced in HTML and CSS into existing sites or in a new system
• Analyze existing systems written in PHP, produce estimates and modify them according to requirements
• Work with SQL databases (primarily MySQL)
• Investigate new APIs and learn how to use them

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY:

• Working knowledge of MySQL/SQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript/Jquery/Ajax and cross-browser/platform web development techniques.
• Working knowledge of object-oriented PHP development (Knowledge of TDD will be advantage)
• Experience in developing web application is must.
• Should be familiar with MVC pattern development.
• Should have knowledge of atleast any one of php framework (CodeIgniter/cake php/zend/yii)
• Knowledge/ experience of CMS like Joomla,  WordPress, Drupal etc... and be able to customize it will be a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member in a dynamic work environment
• Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic.
• Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of tasks, process, and products 
• Ability to stay abreast of best practices by researching new tools and techniques 
• Ability to effectively use source control systems such as GitHub or Subversion 
• Communication skills – listen, able to write business correspondence effectively, present information verbally one-on-one or groups setting and respond to questions from managers and employees.
