A grass-roots based social enterprise, working as a facilitator to bring healthcare delivery to remote mountain communities in collaboration with the hospitals, professionals, volunteers from all over the world.

Details / requirements:

 

We are a  grassroots level social enterprise working in the field of organizing outreaches in health care delivery in remote mountain communities. We are challenged to organize exceptional health outreach projects in the mountain communities in collaboration with the local stake holders and the hospitals/doctors from Kathmandu in close coordination with various line agencies of the government of Nepal. We deal with a large numbers of volunteers from abroad and need to make excellent arrangements for food, accommodation and travel and other holiday activities of adventure/travel/treks, etc. We are looking for an active, creative, result-oriented, self-motivated, optimistic person, with excellent communication skills and a good command over English language, who is willing to think out of the box and willing to learn with an open mind. The initial internship is for a period of 3 months which may result in full time permanent engagement for the right candidate. Candidates with exposure in handling independent tasks in a modern IT enabled office  and with rustic village environments while in the outreach projects will get preference. Youths and specially females are encouraged to apply.

1. Outreach Co-ordinator 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Minimum educational requirement is that of a Bachelor’s Graduate Degree from a recognized university. General knowledge of community and/or social service resources and programs including that of Public Health. Skill in conducting interviews and assessing client needs. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to operate computers and other office equipment. Ability to write reports and maintain records. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. Ability to perform extensive standing and walking. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact. Ability to interact with the public, health care providers, communityorganizations, and social service agencies. Must be a multi-tasker. Ability to maintain poise and courtesy under pressure. Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate personnel. Plans, organizes and implements the village health Outreaches in remote mountain communities in collaboration with the host communities, Partner Hospitals and the line agencies of the government.

2. Tour/Trek/Hospitality  Leader

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Shall have at least Intermediate level education and preference will be given to those having a qualification of Bachelor level in Tourism/Outdoors recreational (sports) related discipline/social science/sociology/and shall have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position.

  • development of packages of tour/travel/treks by visiting destinations and suggesting interesting travel/trekking routes or places of interest;
  • designing flexible tour/trek packages to meet the needs of different clients;
  • exploring and identifying new business opportunities in a competitive and rapidly changing industry;
  • welcoming groups of international volunteers at their starting point and announcing details of travel arrangements and stop-over points;
  • checking tickets and other relevant documents, seat allocations and any special requirements;
  • helping with passport and immigration issues;
  • helping international volunteers check-in and settle into their accommodation;
  • communicating a range of information on itineraries, destinations and culture;
  • informing passengers of arrival and departure times at each destination on the itinerary and ensuring that all members of the group are back on the coach before departing from each stop;
  • making sure all travel arrangements run according to plan and that accommodation, meals and service are satisfactory;
  • ensuring that the tour is running smoothly for individual members of the group;
  • responding to questions and offering help with any problems that arise, ranging from simple matters, such as directing a member of the group to the nearest chemist, to more serious issues, such as tracing lost baggage;
  • dealing with emergencies, such as helping a visiting volunteer who is ill or those needing to contact family members urgently;
  • making contact in advance with places to stay or visit to check details and arrangements;
  • liaising with hotels, coach companies, restaurants and other clients;
  • advising about facilities, such as sights, restaurants and shops, at each destination;
  • occasionally making accommodation bookings on proposed dates;
  • writing reports and maintaining records;
  • organising and attending tourism events, conferences, workshops, seminars and exhibitions.
  • Keeping abreast of the travel advisories issued by various embassies;

SALARY/REMUNERATION

The Outreach Co-ordinator – starting salary is 15, 000 -20,000 per month

Tour/Hospitality Leader – starting salary is 12, 000 -15,000 per month
