Globally, Generation Nutrition campaign has been started by a diverse group of civil society organizations who wish to see this situation turned around. It is a global campaign, calling on governments and the international community to take urgent action to prioritize the fight against acute malnutrition, and save the lives of millions of children under the age of five. This position is open only for Nepali Nationality. The position is based in Kathmandu with some visits to districts. This position is for six months (may extend if required).

Objective of post: Organize and implement the activities relative to Generation Nutrition Campaign in Nepal

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Collect internal and external information in order to organize the campaign and design appropriate documents and materials

  • Collect information about agencies, NGOs involved in nutrition activities, political events, agendas at national level, all relevant contacts, potential supports in media and civil society, including potential champions for the campaign and artists
  • Collect information from ACF departments (especially health and nutrition) and HQ to design communication materials, presentations and position and briefing papers relative to the campaign. 

2. Design and draft qualitative documents for Generation Nutrition Campaign

  • Drafting briefing papers and presentations about objectives, undernutrition in Nepal and worldwide, activities and planning of the campaign worldwide and in Nepal.
  • Drafting position papers about undernutrition in Nepal and concrete actions Generation Nutrition recommend decision makers, civil society and donors to take
  • Designing and drafting communication materials about the campaign, with support from technical department, ACF logistics and suppliers.

3. Assist the Head of Nutrition and Health Department and the Country Director in communication and representation with all stakeholders involved in the Campaign

  • Assisting the Head of Nutrition and Health Department and the Country Director in daily communication with stakeholders for the campaign through emails, phone calls, management of agenda, & appointments for bilateral or multilateral meetings, in developing contacts with the media in order to have effective and efficient channels for advocacy messages
  • Representing ACF and Generation Nutrition Campaign in relevant forums as required.

4. Plan and organize in details all meetings and public or political events relative to the campaign under supervision and guidance of the line manager

  • Planning and concrete organization of all meetings relative to the campaign, public or political events of the campaign (including invitations and logistics, administrative organization) 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • At least Bachelor’s degree Nutrition/Public Health/Social Science/Communication or relevant subjects
  • At least one year of experience in nutrition/public health/general communication
  • Good level of professionalism, flexible and committed to teamwork
  • Ability to learn and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good interpersonal skill and sense of confidentiality 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali
  • Good knowledge of MS-Office Package
