Sunaulo Parivar Nepal (SPN) is a wellâ€established NGO delivering Family Planning and Sexual Reproductive Health services throughâ€out the country via centres, mobile outreach teams to remote areas and social marketing. It works in partnership with Marie Stopes International UK (MSI), a global social business providing reproductive health services across the world with a mission of ensuring individual's fundamental right to have children by choice not chance.
Support for International Health and Family Planning Organizations 2 (SIFPO2) is a cooperative agreement funded by USAID and implemented by Marie Stopes International Nepal/Sunaulo Parivar Nepal in 11 districts of Nepal: Sankhuwasava, Siraha, Rautahat, Chitwan, Dhading, Kaski, Parbat, Myagdi, Syangja, Rupandehi and Darchula from 2015 to 2019
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Research (MER) Manager will be responsible forensuring operation of M&E System of SIFPO2 (of Family Planning Service Strengthening Program). The M&E and Research Manager will closely work with Chief of Party, Senior Project Manager, District Managers and others including MSIN/SPN’s Research Manager to plan and implement M&E and research interventions as guided by project PMP/M&E plan collaborating with USAID, government of Nepal and stakeholders nationally and at district level. The position requires frequent travel to monitor project activities.
Job Descriptions:
- Review existing M&E system and M&E Plan in consultation with project team and USAID and make it compatible with project requirements.
- Lead the establishment the M&E system of the project
- Ensure project monitoring, evaluation and reporting from districts follow USAID Family Planning compliance, rules/regulations and requirements.
- Develop data recording formats and reporting templates based on the requirements of DIP and M & E plan
- Ensure that the M & E and research tools capture appropriate disaggregation of data and all relevant data are collected in time as required for USAID standard.
- Review and analyze the monitoring data and support the project team at support office and districts to improve the performance according to PMP.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to the project areas regularly and provide onsite mentoring to the district team
- Conduct data quality assurance semi-annually or as required by the project
- Represent MSI/SIFPO as a member of technical team as assigned in different forum to share the success/result
- Support District Managers in performance monitoring of health facilities, and support for monitoring and technical skill development
Jobs Specifications:
- Master’s Degree in public health, biostatistics/statistics, or social sciences with strong academic health background.
- Experience in developing M&E strategies, plans, research designs, and data analysis and providing evidence-based insight to program team and stakeholders
- Knowledge of USAID funded project’s M&E system
- Knowledge of family planning related indicators
- Experience in community facilitation and training with an emphasis on participatory approaches
- At least 5 years of M&E and Research experience in public health, preferably in family planning:
o Establishing M&E system of large scale projects, preferably funded by USAID
o Developing and implementing M&E and research tools to measure successful project delivery and increase efficiency and effectiveness
o Producing high quality M & E report
