Community Development Society (CDS) is a non-profit making, non-governmental social development organization established in September 2001 under the Society Registration Act 1977 of Nepal. CDS has been working with clear vision of Establishment of ‘Self-reliant, Healthy and Equitable society’. CDS has been working in the sector of livelihood, small-scale infrastructure development, health and sanitation, education, renewable energy, peace and good governance for the past 14 years. In this connection, CDS is implementing reconstruction-project in Bijulikot VDC of Ramechhap district named “Housing Reconstruction Assistance Project” in partnership with Medair.

This reconstruction project focuses on improving resilience and safe shelter conditions among earthquake affected households along with sanitation support in Bijulikot VDC of Ramechhap district. It will support in reconstruction of 1263 houses of all 9 wards in Bijulikot VDC based on NRA enrolment. In this regard, CDS is seeking few innovative, self-motivated and dynamic personnel for the following positions: 

Position: Logistic Officer

July 2017-End of June 2018
(Includes probation period of three months and possibility of extension)
Field Based (Bijulikot VDC)
Salary: As per Organization rules and Regulation

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Carry out the day-to-day logistical functions of the programme including, but not limited to:
  • Supporting logistical activities such as procurement, supply chain, stock management, warehousing, transport, facilities, and asset tracking
  • Procure office and program supplies and materials in coordination with program and administration staffs, ensuring that organizational internal controls are followed. 
  • Deliver/dispatch the required goods to the sites as per plan
  • Regularly update the vendor database for necessary goods and services required in the project
  • Ensure organization assets/equipment and materials are recorded and reported as per regulations
  • Manage safety of staffs, assets/equipment and materials 
  • Produce and file necessary reports related to procurements, stock positions/inventory, assets, vehicle mileage/maintenance etc. that match the audit requirements 
  • Provide other necessary logistics support to the project and staffs
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in line with CDS guidelines and procedures and according to any donor requirements
  • Carry out frequent and thorough checks on the quality of equipment and supplies, ensuring that items are maintained in a good condition and that CDS are receiving ‘value for money’ on items purchased.
  • Work with relevant team members and field management, within the context of the local environment, to ensure the security of the CDS base(s) and of all CDS property and equipment.
  • Support to project coordinator in data collection and reporting.
  • Maintain good relation with the vendor.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in management/administration/supply chain/logistics or any relevant field.
  • 2 years working experience in logistic, preferably in N/INGOs.

Note:
