Lead Engineer - Emergency response shelter / wash

Job Summary: |
Main responsibilities: · Ensure the participation of marginalized communities in programming, including women, janajati adivasi and low-caste groups. · Lead the assessment of technical needs following disasters. · Prepare and lead post-disaster reconstruction activities · Facilitate trainings on DRR and WASH using a participatory approach with high practical involvement. · Support the programme in mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction within all projects. · Survey and implement projects in PIN districts, identify deviations, timely report and correct them. · Prepare regular reports for the programme manager and document lessons learned. · Liaise with relevant other actors/NGOs to develop PIN’s capacity in engineering DRR and coordinate activities. · Provide technical support to PIN local partners and oversee the outputs of their reconstruction activities. · Lead and supervize the team of site engineers |
Qualifications: |
· Civil engineering degree. · Strong understanding of DRR and WASH + Participatory training methods. · Experience working in remote areas and with local sourced materials preferred · Experience with gender mainstreaming and work with janajati adviasi groups preferred. · Strong managerial skill · Language: English + preferable one or two of the local languages in Gorkha + Sindhupalchuk |
