Details / requirements:

USAID's Health for Life (H4L), project, managed by RTI International announces multiple internship opportunities for qualified individuals from Dalit or disadvantaged communities, especially women, for a 10 to 12 month internship program starting on or about 15 June 2014, in the following programmatic areas.

  1. Health Governance
  2. Health Service Delivery
  3. Gender Equity and Social Inclusions (GESI)

Description Of Internship:

The purpose is for candidate to be exposed to an appropriate professional expereince and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare them for employment or further education in the field of social development or public health. The candidates is expected to gain an understanging of the GoN's health systems, local health governance, and health service, while also increasing access to and utilization of health services, Interns will be based in projecy districts and will be provided a monthly stiped.

Qualification:

  • Bachelors level studies in public health or social science.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with basic skills in the use of computers
  • Committed to working directly with marginalized/disadvantaged communities in diverse settings.
  • Willing to make frequent field visits, including visiting FCHVs, outreach clinics, mothers' groups etc.

Applicants from the following districts will be given preference:

Arghakhachi, Kapilvastu, Pyuthan, Rolpa, Dang, Salyan, Rukum, Banke, Bardiya, Surkhet, Dailekh, Kalikot, Jajarkot and Jumla.
