IMAM Programme Manager

ACF is one of the partners in USAID funded Community Resilience Programme (SABAL) led by Save The Children along with Action for Enterprise; Alliance for Social Mobilization (Alliance Nepal); Development Project Service Centre (DEPROSC); CARE; Helen Keller International (HKI); Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD); Nepali Technical Assistance Group (NTAG); and Nepal Water for Health (NEWAH). For this project, ACF invites applications from the interested and eligible candidates for the following post: 

CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed Term

NO. OF POSITION: 1 (One)

CONTRACT DURATION: 3 years

DUTY STATION: One of the districts in Central Development Region

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Overall planning and assessing for start-up of CMAM/IMAM activities in the district

  • Establish strong relation with MoHP/DHO/DPHO, local authorities and partners for their collaboration in implementation of CMAM/IMAM (Community based Management of Acute Malnutrition/Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition) activities.
  • Define and develop detailed implementation plan (DIP) for CMAM/IMAM in the district.
  • Plan, develop and support to conduct capacity building activities at different levels according to the final implementation plan and in line with national protocols.

2. Management of CMAM/IMAM activities

  • Handling all CMAM/IMAM programmatic matters in the district together with DHO/DPHO.
  • Ensure proper recording, referral and reporting system is maintained using HMIS (Health Management Information System).

3. Advocacy, coordination, communication, linkage and community/social mobilization of CMAM/IMAM programme activities

  • Participate/facilitate/communicate/advocate with DNFSSC (District Nutrition and Food Security Steering Committee) about the programme.
  • Identify and establish linkages with other programme activities to advocate, coordinate and communicate about CMAM/IMAM programme activities.
  • Identify/conduct different community/social mobilization activities engaging both health and non-health actors in the district to aware/link CMAM/IMAM programme activities.

4. Management of Human Resources with supportive supervision and monitoring

  • Lead/support in recruitment and briefing/training of programme staff to run the nutrition activities in the district.
  • Supportive supervision and monitoring of programme activities, technical staffs and survey teams.
  • Overall management (including administrative management) of field staff and conduct appraisal in the field.

5. Logistics and supplies management

  • Ensure proper/uninterrupted supplies of programme needs at different levels in the district.
  • Support/facilitate to maintain proper recording and reporting of all programme supplies in the LMIS (Logistics Management Information System).

6. Administration

  • Supporting in managing financial transaction at district level.
  • Authorize field expenditures according to the monthly forecast.
  • Ensuring the ACF financial and administrative procedures are respected.

7. Recording and reporting of programme activities

  • Maintain internal database system for recording and reporting.
  • Finalize the monthly activities report (statistics and narrative) and forward as per established communication channel.
  • Share/update programme progress reports with DHO/DPHO regularly.

8. Representation

  • Represent SABAL programme in nutrition and health meetings/discussions/forums as and when necessary.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Master’s degree in social science, public health, nutrition, development studies or relevant discipline.
  • Five or more years of extensive experience in managing nutrition and health programmes at the district or above levels.
  • Significant experiences in CMAM/IMAM programme, Nutrition in Emergency (NiE), disaster management, humanitarian response will be an added value.
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of MoHP/health system in Nepal.
  • Ability to work in diverse environment with short deadlines and intense pressure. 
  • Excellent computer skills (office package).
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent Nepali and English communication and presentation skills are the must. 
  • Ability to conduct/organize workshops and meetings independently.
  • Sound knowledge of community/social mobilization.
  • Possess valid two wheelers license for Nepal.
