Funded in 1994, it is an independent, private and not-for-profit organization that operates according to principles of non-discrimination and transparency. Our mission is to support vulnerable populations affected by wars, natural disasters and/or economic and social crises, and to accompany them in building a better future; thus contributing to the Millennium Development Goals. ACTED ‘Links Relief, Rehabilitation and Development’ to provide continued support to vulnerable communities as their needs evolve.

Details / requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the District Coordinator to provide local government and housing sector partners timely, consistent and compatible data and information, on housing recovery and reconstruction activities, for operational analysis and decision-making.
  • Act as HRRP District-level focal point in cross-sector or cross-coordination forum information management and analysis at the district level.
  • Work in coordination with relevant sectors or forums in developing common district level information management architecture for data collection, collation, dissemination, and analysis, including archiving, and application of common tools, standards, and indicators;
  • Ensure the district-level dissemination and adaptation as necessary of information management tools that meet HRRP needs;
  • Act as the HRRP IM focal-point for linkages with all district-level stakeholders, particularly local actors, for enhanced sectoral risk mapping and gap identification;
  • Provide district-level sector-specific maps and graphics on a regular basis that aid the District Coordinator, the HRRP Hub Coordinator, and other district-level actors, in forward planning and analysis;
  • Support the implementation of HRRP coordinated needs assessments at the district level, in partnership with relevant government authorities and agencies;
  • Promote use of and training on the use of reporting tools and other information management tools among HRRP stakeholders;
  •  Provide information outputs in the local language wherever feasible;
  • Support the HRRP National Information Manager in information gathering and coordinating information collection processes including monitoring and analyzing.
  • Manage the contact lists at the district level.
  • Support National/Hub level IM activities as required, particularly with analysis of information.
  •  Regularly inform the HRRP Senior Information Manager on activities, status, and provide regular support as requested and agreed to by the HRRP National Information Manager
  • Liaise with relevant government counterparts and participate in IM Network meetings as required.
  •  Any other related duties might be assigned.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in social sciences or any development discipline related to Disaster Risk Management or a combination of related education and competencies.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive work experience in challenging environments and operational activities in disaster/conflict affected areas will be an advantage.
  • Experience in international or governmental programme would be desirable.
