Local Roads Bridge Programme (LRBP)

Local Roads Bridge Programme (LRBP) is a joint programme of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and Government of Nepal for the implementation of motorable roads bridge in LRN throughout the country since 2011. On the behalf of SDC, AF-Iteco Ltd. Switzerland, constitutes the Local Roads Motorable Bridge Programme Support Unit (LRBSU) responsible to provide technical assistance to the District Development Committees (DDC) and center through Local Bridge Section (LBS), Department of Local Infrastructure Development for Agricultural Roads (DoLIDAR) on motorable bridge sub-sector activities.The duration of the 1st phase is 4 years from February 1, 2011 to November 30, 2014. Considering high priority to bridge construction work and its continuation, GoN and SDC extended 1st phase of LRBP till, May 31, 2016. Similarly LRBP 2nd Phase was signed on May 13, 2013 for 9 months period from June 01, 2016 to February 28, 2017. And LRBP 3rd phase was signed on January 26, 2017 for 3 years 5 months period from March 01, 2017 to July 31, 2020. The concept of local roads bridge is defined as an access to the services and opportunities to recognize the development potentials in the programmed region. LRBP aims to improve the livelihood of people targeting disadvantaged groups in programme districts via increasing accessibility to the services and opportunities.

LOCAL ROADS BRIDGE PROGRAMME (LRBP)

Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is providing Technical Assistance (TA) to the Government of Nepal (GoN) through the Department of Local Infrastructure Development and Agricultural Roads (DoLIDAR) under Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) inthe implementationofLocal Roads Bridge Programme (LRBP) in Nepal. 

AF–ItecoAGSwitzerland (AF-Iteco), on behalf of SDC, provides technical assistance through its TA-team. AF-Itecoinvites applications from interested and qualified Nepali Nationals for the following positions.

Geographic Information System (GIS) and Information Technology (IT) Assistant (Female only -1 position)

Qualification and Experience:

The GIS & IT Assistant should have a Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering. She shall have a minimum of two years’ experience in production of thematic maps, topographic survey and layout, GIS database management. The applicant having knowledge of latestIT software andhardwareskills will be given preferences. She shall have very good written and spoken English with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. This position is Kathmandu based with visit to regional offices as and when required.
