A national NGO, is looking for an experienced project coordinator of its ‘Livelihood Improvement of Vulnerable Communities Project’ in the selected settlements of Kavre and Dolakha Districts. This position is based Banepa Kavre with frequent travel to Bigu rural municipality of Dolakha district. The project coordinator will supervise a team of project officers, social mobilizers, and cooperative staff in collaboration with partner cooperatives in Kavre and Dolakha. Project Coordinator should directly report Executive Director and work closely with Administrative and Finance Manager, Sarbodaya Nepal, Managers of the partner cooperatives in Kavre and Dolakha Project coordinator is responsible for program planning, implementing, monitoring, reporting, documenting, and communicating with district level stakeholders.

Sarbodaya Nepal has emerged as an NGO after decade long works of the Fondazione Un Raggio di Luce Onlus (FRL), Italian Foundation.

Sarbodaya Nepal hereby invites applications from interested candidates for Finance and logistic officer for 1 year.

Background:
Sarbodaya Nepal has a central office at Lalitpur, Pulchowk, three district offices in Dolakha, kabhare and Jumla and 1 project offices in Nuwakot. The finance unit presently serves all the needs of the central office and provides technical backstopping to project and district offices under the existing financial policy manual. The Finance and Logistic officer will be based in head office and support the program coordinator and Executive Director in the day to day admin and finance based functions.

Purpose of the Assignment:
The purpose is to extend support to the Finance unit in academic and professional knowledge and skills of staffs focusing on financial management and services that eliminate or minimize the risk.

Qualifications and Competencies :
Candidates should have minimum of bachelors in management/finance or preferable master's degree in business administration or management having good computer skills. Sound knowledge  of  local  and  international  finance system. Tactfulness  and  an  ability  to  deal  with  people. Proficient in use of word processing and spreadsheets software packages. Ability to take initiative and work independently. Good communication skills in both English and Nepali.

Job Description: Finance and Logistic Officer (FLO officer)

1. JOB POSITION: Finance and Logistic Officer (FLO officer), based in Kathmandu

2. PROGRAM/PROJECT: Strengthening Community Resilience to Disasters/DRR Project

3. PERIOD FOR: One year (With Possibility of extension)

4. REPORT TO:EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (ED)

5. Supervising to : Project staffs 

6. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The  FLO Officer will  be  primarily responsible  to oversee all 

aspects of  Finance and Program management of Head Office and ensure Sarbodaya Nepal's policies and procedures are effectively implemented and complied with. Provide strategic support to the ED.

7. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure to implement the Administration, Personnel, Financial and HRD of SARBODAYA Nepal
  • Update and maintain the procedurals and policies as per the need

8. Financial and Administrative management and Programme Implementation

  • Responsible for making the overall budget and expenditure plan of Head  office and projects 
  • Responsible for maintaining fixed assets register of office assets, equipments
  • Responsible to operate the bank account  with joint signatory 
  • Ensure the efficient daily administration of SARBODAYA Nepal
  • Responsible for the office cash management
  • Responsible for the office supplies and consumables
  • Up keeping of HR files, leave record and MOU 
  • Ensure proper management and utilization of project fund at the local  level 

9. Networking and coordination:

  • Assist ED and PC to networking and coordination among the partners and stakeholders 
  • Maintain  the good coordination among the team members 
  • Coordinate among different Stakeholders members on regular work.

10.  Planning and implementation :

  • Prepare the annual budget close consultation with ED and PC 
  • Prepare quarterly financial report and update the financial position to ED
  • Prepare the annual financial audit  report
  • Support and monitor to partner NGOs
  • Implement all the planned project activities in consultation with ED

11. Team Management:

  • Guide sub-ordinate staff in team for timely planning, implementing and reporting  
  • Supervise and monitor the supporting team members
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and share progress and plan of own responsibilities to the team
  • Assist to develop proper and timely feedback mechanism within staff members

11. Qualifications required 

  • A solid background in using MS excel and other data analysis software to generate report
  • Preferably Bachelors degree in Agriculture, IT, Business Administration, Social Science or related field
  • Financial report writing along with incorporating the auditor recommendation, team management, daily administration, financial planning, implementing, monitoring, budget control and computerized accounting skills

12. Experience required :

  • More than two years work experience of projects administration and financial planning, budgeting and monitoring. Working knowledge with local communities in the Hill and Terai regions of Nepal.

13. Necessary Competencies :

  • Team player with self-management skills. An ability to coach, delegate, follow-up and supervise as well as support.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to engage effectively with staff, communities and authorities
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook, Database skills would be an advantage.
