DUTY STATION:  Nepal

ABOUT US:

Social Re Consultancy (Pvt.) Ltd. is a consulting company registered in New Delhi, India, and is tied with Micro Insurance Academy (MIA) through a service agreement that has been in existence since the inception of MIA and which enables MIA to benefit from intellectual property and knowledge that is owned by SRC and /or developed prior to the establishment of MIA, and/or the knowledge of person affiliated with SRC. SRC is thus the legal entity through which MIA can provide consultancy service outside India. 

The Micro Insurance Academy (MIA), a project of Sarvajan Unnati Bodhini Charitable Trust, is a not-for-profit organization fully dedicated to providing technical assistance in microinsurance domain-knowledge to organizations that focus on low-income communities.

MIA Quality Management System is certified to the ISO 9001:2008 International Standard. MIA has received from Credibility Alliance the certificate of accreditation of desirable norms.

In order to integrate microinsurance with existing financial and social protection frameworks, the MIA works in liaison with partners from the NGO sector, civil society, academia, bilateral and multilateral development agencies, the (re)insurance industry and national governments in several regions of the world.

About the Project:

Social Re’s prime objective would be expanding Nirdhan Utthan Bank Limited’s (NUBL-Nepal) micro insurance activities to include other risks, of interest to its client base to improve financial sustainability. This objective should allow NUBL both to offer a wider range of insurance solution to its members and to ensure suitable after sales service at low cost. SRC propose to keep a focus of this wider perspective in advising on development of an insurance vertical. 

About the Job:

The Field Manager will report to the Project Manager and will deal with all matters related to the smooth running of the field’s implementation.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:-

  • Manage field activities, including creating detailed work plans and timelines;
  • Ensure timely delivery of tasks for smooth field management;
  • Respond to upcoming challenges in the implementation or any other aspect of the project by drawing upon the necessary resources;
  • Involve with partners and stakeholders when required;
  • Monitor and evaluate field performance issues and address relevant problems;
  • Develop, with other project staff, best practices; 
  • Coordinate and support the activities related to research 
  • Provide input and support in the development of training materials; 
  • Coordinate and support the activities related to training
  • Produce reports:  internally to the Project Manager and externally to partners and donors as and when required;
  • Manage local vendors;
  • Support the Project Manager in networking and liaising with different stakeholders;
  • Perform additional duties and tasks, as necessary

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in a relevant field;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a field management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English and Nepali;
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
  • Ability to deliver results within a strict timeline;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Demonstrated high professional and ethical standards;
  • Knowledge in implementing programs related to insurance and micro-finance is a plus

REMUNERATION:

  • The SRC offers a competitive salary and benefits package in the Indian market commensurate with experience and skills.
The candidate must have a sound background in the field of micro-finance and insurance.
