Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) is a Nepalese non-governmental development organization working in the areas of integrated community development, agriculture, forestry, human rights, peace building and social justice, having strategic focus on protecting and promoting economic, social and cultural rights and right to development. We also work extensively on natural resource management, disaster management and climate change adaptation and mitigation activities. Its major interventions are directed towards poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged groups of people in rural areas.

Details / requirements:

Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) is looking for competent candidates to fill in the following positions for some project based on Central Office, Kathmandu. 

Executive Operations Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring effective functioning of the executive office and strengthening partnerships, and will work closely alongside the Executive Director. The role includes but is not limited to:

Accountability & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Director in daily tasks as and when required,
  • Keep track of ED’s appointments and calendar
  • Provide executive support to the Executive Director, Executive Board and the organisation, 
  • Ensuring that Board and ED are fully briefed in advance of ongoing activities, 
  • Following up on all agreed actions, 
  • Manage files and folders at Executive Office,
  • Assist Communication Manager in maintaining RRN’s official email, 
  • Coordinate regular committee meetings within the office and maintain meeting notes, 
  • Actively participate in project development activities, 
  • Keep track of advocacy networks and upcoming events of importance, 
  • Read documents and brief in summary to the Executive Director as and when needed,  
  • Work alongside the Executive Director to identify individuals and organisations of strategic importance to RRN, 
  • Assist responsible managers in various events conducted by RRN Office,
  • And Undertaking specific initiatives, activities, projects and research commissioned by the Executive Director or senior management on their behalf.

Qualifications 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Communication, Project Management or any relevant discipline. Candidates with Master’s Degree preferred. 
  • At least 2 years of experience volunteering, consulting or working for organisations in development sector. 
  • Willing to commit to work in the position for at least 2 years. 
  • Excellent verbal and written in English and preferable Nepali typing.
