EDUCATION SYSTEMS COORDINATOR, NEPAL

RTI's International Education Division is supporting education development around the world by strengthening education policy, management and practice in order to achieve measurable improvement in teaching and learning. From our well-established reputation in education system strengthening, to innovative work in early grade assessment and learning, RTI is improving education quality, relevance and efficiency through implementation of projects funded by USAID, DFID, Australian Aid and other donors and clients.

The International Education Division is currently accepting applications forEducationSystems Coordinatorfor a USAID-funded five-year project to improve early grade reading in Nepal. This is a full-time position with residency in Nepal. The Project Assistant / Education Systems will support the Education Systems Coordinatorto advance data collection, policy implementation, ICT technologies and resource management and the formation of partnerships for improved early grade reading. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize, support coordinate capacity building meetings and trainings with the MOE and NEGRP partners for target districts, as well as for additional districts in the later years of program implementation. 
  • Follow and promote timely and correct archiving of theearly grade reading assessment data.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of studies or surveys deemed crucial for improved student learning outcomes.
  • Support and/or provide relevant training on the use of ICT (software and hardware) to support teaching and learning and professional development. 
  • Support the Technical Support Unit (TSU), embedded in the Ministry of Education, to strengthen data collection methodologies,data management, and quality control.
  • Participate in sessions and meetings concerning education policy and implementation.
  • Process and back up project data (capture, archiving, analysis) with the aid of manual and electronic tools.
  • Support the production of periodical standardized reports as well as special reports of analysis as needed. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of experience ineducation systems strengthening, data collection and analysis, and monitoring and evaluation and / or scientific research within development programs, preferably in education.
  • Knowledge and experience in management centered on results, including formulation of indicators, methods of collection, control of the quality of data.
  • Experience in organization and implementation of training programs 
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a team and with various partners, including government and ministry counterparts. 
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Professional proficiency and fluency in English and Nepali.
