ADRA works in 135 countries around the world and is working in Nepal since 1987 with its Health, Economic Development and Livelihood, Education, and Disaster Risk Management activities.

ADRA Nepal is seeking applications from interested and eligible candidates for the post of DRR Consultant-PRAGATI Project. The DRR-Consultant assumes responsibility for the direct management of DG ECHO Funded “Promoting Resilient cities and sustainable urban growth through DRR capacity building of Local Authorities and active private sector Involvement in Nepal”- the PRAGATI Project under direct supervision of Team Leader-DRM and in collaboration with the DRM Team members, Finance, HR and Logistic Team in ADRA and the PRAGATI Consortium Manager and PRAGATI Consortium members as a whole. ADRA Nepal in consultation with PRAGATI Consortium Manager will support the incumbent to deliver project successfully.

Contract duration: Initially the term is for 6 months with possible extension upon fund availability.

Required Qualification: Master’s Degree in Disaster Risk Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, Development Studies, Social Sciences or any other relevant areas of study.

Required Knowledge and Skill: S/he should have at least 7 years professional experience in DRR/M, humanitarian assistance, climate change, urban resilience and in policy work. Technical skills in ECHO Funded project administration and management and the ability to engage in capacity building of local partners and municipal officials. Ability to develop DRR/M Training Manual and Guidelines to mainstream DRR/M in private sector development and municipality planning process. Knowledge and skills on GIS. Working experience in managing ECHO Funded Disaster Risk Reduction Projects such as DIPECHO funded consortium project in I/NGOs is highly preferred

The position holder should possess interpersonal communications and coordination skills to work effectively in multi-cultural setting with a wide variety of stakeholders and be sensitive to child safeguarding policy. A strong command of English & Nepali languages and good knowledge of MS office & statistical package is a must.
