Oxford Policy Management (OPM) is one of the world’s leading international policy development and management organisation. We enable strategic decision-makers in the public and private sector to identify and implement sustainable solutions for reducing social and economic disadvantage in low- and middle-income countries. OPM Nepal is a part of our global strengths currently providing in-country technical assistance to the government of Nepal in health, social protection, economic policies, climate change and community development.

We are seeking to recruit Driver based in Kathmandu with frequent visit outside Kathmandu as programme needed initially on fixed term contract for a year, with possibility of extension. 

Position Purpose: Ensure safe, efficient and descent travel/transportation of OPM employee, consultants and clients to and from various destinations by operating and maintaining a vehicle.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist officials/ guests travelling as passengers in handling with their luggage and packages. 
  • Maintain the vehicle consistently clean, adequately fuelled and in working condition. 
  • Maintain log book of trips, repairs/maintenance and report monthly to OPM Country Office. 
  • Assist District Office/Country office in procurements, delivery of mails and any office related tasks. 
  • Inform country office and Risk Management Office (RMO) beforehand the travel and follow instruction as necessary. 
  • Assist in general administration work as and when required.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities required by the position purpose and as requested by Finance and Administration Officer. 

Requirements: 

  • Must have at least grade 10, preference will be given to SLC pass 
  • Able to communicate some level of English. 
  • Some knowledge of maintenance and care of the vehicle. 
  • Must have awareness of basic risk management procedures.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions. 
  • Knowledge and experience in local traffic routes and destinations including the various offices. 
  • No criminal conviction and records.
  • Good personal hygiene and pleasant disposition. 
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule. 
  • Consistent attention to travel and geographical details (location, time, weather etc). 
  • High integrity
  • Valid Driving License
