Sunaulo Parivar Nepal (SPN) is a wellâ€established NGO delivering Family Planning and Sexual Reproductive Health services throughâ€out the country via centres, mobile outreach teams to remote areas and social marketing. It works in partnership with Marie Stopes International UK (MSI), a global social business providing reproductive health services across the world with a mission of ensuring individual's fundamental right to have children by choice not chance.

Support for International Health and Family Planning Organizations 2 (SIFPO2) is a cooperative agreement funded by USAID and implemented by Marie Stopes International Nepal/Sunaulo Parivar Nepal in 11 districts of Nepal: Sankhuwasava, Siraha, Rautahat, Chitwan, Dhading, Kaski, Parbat, Myagdi, Syangja, Rupandehi and Darchula from 2015 to 2019

District Manager is responsible for planning and monitoring activities, managing district-level project resources, liaising with the DHO and external partners, carrying out quality assurance and on the job support as well as providing family planning (FP) services directly if required.

Job Description:

  1. Plan, implement and monitor district level activities
  2. Manage budget and district level project resources
  3. Ensure project activities are compliant with USAID rules and regulations and US Government FP Legislative & Policy
  4. Assist Clinical Services Manager and Quality Technical Assistance Manager to develop and manage an annual plan of internal clinical audits for government facilities.·      
  5. Roll out of quality supportive supervision of government providers·      
  6. Participate in internal investigation for both minor and serious incidences and document according to MoH and MSI standards.
  7. Follow up on recommendations to address any gaps under the guidance of the Clinical Services Manager
  8. Support the Quality Technical Assurance Manager /  Clinical Services Manager to recruit and induct new clinical staff ·         
  9. Travel extensively within the district to oversee and carry out carrying out quality assurance and on the job support  ·         
  10. Provide technical assistance on clinical family planning services to all levels of clinical staff and government providers during visits·         
  11. Assess skills, knowledge and capacity of government providers and staff during visits and plan corrective action with Quality Technical Assurance Manager /Clinical Services Manager, providing on-the-spot training where appropriate·         
  12. Make recommendations for formal training as required by the Training Centre
  13. Encourage commitment for the uninterrupted high standard of quality service and to accommodating clients ·         
  14. Ensure government providers and facilities are compliant with US Government FP Legislative and Policy complianceProvide family planning services at government facilities as the need arises.·         
  15. Actively maintain relationships and coordinate with the DHO and external partners·         
  16. Coordinate district quarterly MAT meetings and follow up on agreed actions·         
  17. Increase the organisation’s profile through active participation in professional associations, conferences etc.
  18. Participate in country level strategic planning processes and occasional regional meetings

Job Specification:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in nursing, or in public health with nursing academic background
  • Preferably trained on family planning including Implant, IUCD and Clinical Training Skills (CTS)
  • At least 3 years of experience in designing, implementing and monitoring project interventions at district level, preferably related to family planning and funded by USAID
