Social Welfare Association of Nepal (SWAN) is an NGO working in the field of Maternal and Child Health. It has been implementing MNH interventions funded by One Heart World-Wide, Nepal since 2011 in Baglung district. SWAN is seeking to recruit a qualified Nepali Citizen for the position of District Coordinator.

 

District Coordinator:  A full time position based in Baglung district that requires frequent field visits

No: 1

Duration: From May 01 to 31st Dec, 2014 with possible extension.

Key responsibilities:

·         Coordinate with program team, DHO, RHCC members and other stakeholders in order to maintain program schedule and achieve program deliverables at the district level.

·         Provide close and continuous  support to the CB-NCP, Birthing Centers, and  MNH pilot interventions  

·         Track program progress against indicators and ensure early identification of any areas requiring remedial action

·         Provide technical support to field staffs, health workers and DHO team 

·         Assist Program Manger on data management, data analysis, results oriented programming, monitoring, and evaluation methods and principles, and requirements of relevant donors to ensure compliance.

·         Develop technical support visit tools as per program requirement

·         Assist program team on needs assessment

·         Coordinate logistics and daily activities in all program locations

·         Participate, represent and co-ordinate at the district and health facility level

·         Frequent field visits to facilitate  the implementation process, data collection, and M&E

·         Develop, refine, and manage the process for regular reporting on findings and coordinate with Program Team for the dissemination of information

·         Support to Program Manager for regular assignments and reports

·         Establish effective communication systems within SWAN and among partners

 

Desired Qualifications:

·         Minimum Bachelors Degree in Public Health or  Nursing from a recognized University with more than three years of experience in the related field

·         Ability to function as a self-starter with limited supervision

·         Knowledge and experience using MS-Office packages and statistical  packages

·         Excellent verbal and written communication including excellent written and spoken English

·         Ability to manage people, good inter-personal skills, and experience of working in a team

·         Good analytical skills, and experience with program oversight

·         Knowledge and experience in program management and data management

·         Practical experience in facilitation and interaction with government counterpart/stakeholders at different levels, and ability to deal with various stakeholders
